Zhang Xing walked into the room, placed the briefcase on the sofa, and sat down heavily.
During this time, the company faced numerous trouble, including being discredited on the internet and experiencing frequent server attacks. Although the company had managed to counter the smear campaign with a two-million reward announcement, rumours were circulating among colleagues that the big company was trying to suppress their company. Some employees who had recently joined the company were already considering their options, unsure whether to find another job. If the company were acquired later and restructured, they might be cut off, making it more troublesome to find new jobs.
Zhang Xing was also pondering his options. Having been with the Marching Ant Company for less than a month, he didn't feel a strong sense of attachment or loyalty. And the ongoing rumours were causing him concern, as there might be some truth behind them.
Buzz buzz...
As he was contemplating whether to resign, his phone vibrated.
"Hey, Zhou, what's up?"
"I've started working at a new company, and we're short on staff. Would you like to come and help? It's a sales position, but the initial salary is a bit lower, just over 4,000. Of course, the prospects here are promising, and the salary will increase over time. There's also a lot of room for promotion in the future."
"Is that so?" Zhang Xing hesitated, his eyes flickering: "All right, let's meet tomorrow at ten o'clock."
"Great, see you tomorrow."
After hanging up the phone, Zhang Xing sat on the sofa, searched through a cabinet, found an envelope and paper, and began writing.
The next day.
The atmosphere was gloomy inside the Marching Ant Company, and a sense of depression hung in the air. Many faces reflected discontent and frustration as their colleagues handed in their resignation letters one by one and left the company.
"Brother Zhang, are you going to resign?" Lu Hongyi asked, his eyes filled with hesitation.
"The company is currently under the eyes of big capital. It's only a matter of time before it gets acquired and restructured. From experience I have, I advise you to consider leaving early too, so you won't have trouble finding a new job later on."
Zhang Xing whispered to Lu Hongyi in a severe tone. After packing his belongings, he entered the office with his resignation letter. Observing Zhang Xing's departure, Lu Hongyi hesitated, then shook his head and determinedly focused on his work.
Li Lingfeng's expression turned ugly. In the past two days, he had received ten resignation letters.
It hadn't been long since these people were recruited into the company. He didn't expect a wave of employee resignations would follow just two days after the attack on the company. If this continued, it would undoubtedly spread panic among other employees.
What angered him, even more was that the two middle managers he had personally brought into the company also resigned. It felt like a betrayal.
Someone must be poaching the company's employees intentionally.
After contemplating, Li Lingfeng picked up the stack of resignation letters and headed towards Zhao Min's office.
"Miss Zhao, my boyfriend and I are planning to get married. We need stable jobs, a house, and a car, so..."
Inside Zhao Min's office, her female assistant, Xiao Li, stood stiffly in front of her, wearing an apologetic expression.
"Have you found a new job?" Zhao Min asked calmly.
"Yes, a friend introduced me to work as an assistant manager in a listed company."
"I understand. You may leave then," Zhao Min said, rubbing her temples, signalling the assistant to go.
"I'm sorry, Miss Zhao. I apologise to Minister Li too." The female assistant apologised and left the office with Zhao Min's permission.
"Miss Zhao, I have ten resignation letters," Li Lingfeng worriedly placed the letters on the table.
"Julie also just informed me that there are five more resignations from the marketing department, all from middle-level managers with important roles. Many technicians in Lao Luo's R&D department have also resigned. In Zhang Yi's financial department, two accountants have resigned."
Zhao Min's voice remained composed as she gazed toward the window. "One wave hasn't settled, and yet another rises again. Have people approached you?"
"Yes, I was approached. Last night after work, an old friend asked me to join his company. They offered double the salary here," Li Lingfeng replied.
"And what did you say? Did you accept it?"
"No, I'm not."
"Why didn't you?" Zhao Min inquired.
"At the beginning, you trained me, Miss Zhao, and thanks to you, I have the skills and position I have now. Besides, I believe the company has great potential and a bright future. I trust you can lead us out of this predicament," Li Lingfeng explained.
"It's not a predicament. The company is not in a difficult situation. It has sufficient funds and no debts. It's just a hurdle, but some people can't withstand the test."
Zhao Min turned her head to look out the window with a composed expression.
"Let's get back to normal work. Whoever wants to resign can leave. We will select a few capable employees to fill the vacant managerial positions. As long as our core team remains, those who leave can do as they wish. For those who can't weather the storm, leaving early is also good for the company; now we need to prepare for recruitment."
"Understood."
Seeing Zhao Min's calm attitude, Li Lingfeng felt relieved. Zhao Min was their pillar of support, and as long as she remained steady, Li Lingfeng found some reassurance.
After Li Lingfeng left, Zhao Min picked up the phone and dialled Chen Mo's number.
"Chairman, someone is trying to poach employees from our company," Zhao Min informed Chen Mo over the phone.
Chen Mo paused his hand-designing characters in his workshop and smiled lightly, "Did they manage to poach you?"
"They couldn't afford me."
"Well, it's fine As long as you're here."
"Do you think I'm just here to fill in holes for you?" Zhao Min laughed angrily at Chen Mo's remark. The chairman seemed to have a knack for putting her in difficult situations.
"What's your plan now?" Chen Mo asked.
"I'll fill the gaps for you. The company's popularity is growing, but we're struggling to keep up with the quantity and quality of talent. To be honest, we're strong on the outside but vulnerable inside. We can't do it all alone. I'm planning to recruit some interns from your school."
"Sure, do as you see fit," Chen Mo replied. "Pay close attention to the quality of the mobile phones and the production of Butterfly Eyes. You have the authority to make decisions and stop production when necessary."
With people smearing the company and trying to sabotage mobile phones, they need to be cautious. The little ants can't handle too much turmoil, so they should proceed with moderation.
After getting the company's update, Chen Mo hung up the phone and resumed his study of the Chinese programming language. The keywords, characters, and data types were beginning to wear on his mind.
The good news was that he was making progress. In the past two months, Chen Mo read the 400th book to accelerate his research and then picked up another book on creating computer programming languages from the Science and technology library.
After all the research, he created numerous keywords and made significant advances. He believed that he would soon be able to perfect the foundation of the Chinese programming language.
Immersed in his work, Chen Mo was only interrupted by Xiao Yu's tired voice in the evening.
"Chen Mo."
He stopped writing and looked at Xiao Yu walking over. Seeing her tired face, he felt a little concerned. "Did you not sleep well?"
"I had insomnia last night and couldn't fall asleep at noon either. So hurry up; we're going out tonight."
Xiao Yu's logic amused Chen Mo. She looked like a tired panda but still wanted to go out. But he didn't decline her invitation. He gave Xiao Yu his computer chair to sit on, picked up the lunch box she had brought and started eating.
"Is this something that happens often?"
"Occasionally, it's a little more serious during those few days of each month," Xiao Yu said, leaning on the chair. (Note: Xiao Yu Is in her menstruation period if u don't get it)
"Then, should we go out tonight? You should rest."
"I still can't sleep. Will you come?" Xiao Yu asked with a hopeful look.
"Sure, we'll go. But let me finish my meal first."
