An invitation from The Mystic Healers Circle

There was a moment of silence before Lady Vera spoke.

"I have important news to tell you." Lady Vera finally started talking. "It is related to our organization."

"Are you talking about the organization that you are part of? The Mystic Healers Circle?" Grandma Helene asked, her voice still serious.

"Yes." Lady Vera nodded. "Right now, Her Majesty, the founder and head of our organization, The Mytis Divine Healer is badly injured. And it's the demons' work."

"Huh? It can't be?" My mother exclaimed in shock.

It was understandable though.

The Mytis Divine Healer Lady Vera just talked about is not only the founder or head of this organization but also the most powerful healer in this world. An SSS rank Awakener! A Monarch!

Since she is the best healer, she poses a great threat to our enemy.

She can cure the other Monarchs faster and easier than any other healer out there. This means a lot in large-scale battles.

Let's say both sides have an equal number of monarchs. And one from each side gets injured at the same time. With her in their side, they can bring back their injured Monarch into the battle faster than the other side.

In simpler terms, she is really important.

And that's why there should be a Monarch guarding her if not two.

So it should be impossible to harm her then. But how did the demons do it?

Well, I know how the demons managed to succeed.

"How? Wasn't her husband beside her?" Grandma Helen asked with a suspicious look.

Lady Vera looked at my grandma and mom and finally at me. It was top-tier information after all. "I know you won't but I have asked you to promise me you won't speak of this anywhere or anyone else."

Mother and Grandma nodded in affirmation and promised to her.

"Thanks." Lady Vera nodded. "Honestly, it was an unexpected event. We weren't able to notice it until the Lady herself told us about it."

"..."

"She has been cursed with a powerful ancient demonic curse." Lady Vera muttered in a low voice.

But since the room was so silent, even I could hear her voice.

And she was right. She was indeed cursed. And to curse her, the demons didn't have to capture her or need to be near her.

As long as she was in their range, it would work. Even though, the demons had to pay a hefty price for it as well. I'm sure about it. It's not exactly easy to curse a Monarch after all. They probably sacrificed their people in order for their plan to succeed.

Honestly, it frustrates me just thinking about it...

"...I see." Grandma Helene nodded in understanding snapping me out of my thoughts as usual.

"How's her condition?" Then she asked.

"...She is now in deep slumber. Her life force fading away with each passing moment." Lady Vera spoke in a sad tone. "The curse is eating away her."

"What about the Tree of Life?"

"Well, as soon as her husband heard it, he directly took her to the Sacred Tree of Life. Thankfully she was saved in time." Lady Vera explained. "However..."

It seems she hasn't ended her speech yet.

"However, Her Majesty, The Spirit of the Sacred Tree of Life couldn't also fully help her. According to her, the curse wasn't something even she could handle. And after full analysis, she has warned that the Lady only has fifteen years of life left..."

The room descended into silence once more.

Until it was broken by Grandma once more.

"So what do you want me to do?" Grandma Helene asked. "You know I can't help her, right?"

"Yes. But it's not why I came here." Lady Vera shook her head. "I am here for another reason. I came to you with an invitation."

"An invitation?" Grandma Helene asked curious.

"Yes. Now that the Lady is injured, the organization is in chaos, it needs a new leader." Lady Vera explained.

"So?" Grandma asked annoyed. "Can you get to the point?"

"..." Mother gulped in anticipation or nervousness.

"I invite you to become the next leader of the Mystic Healer Circles."

"..."

The hall fell into a deathly silence.

Lady Vera dropped a bomb after all, although I expected this after all of her words, I didn't believe she would really ask that.

Even the three companions of Lady Vera weren't aware of this based on their shocked expressions.

And there is not a memory of my grandma being the head of an organization.

Did she refuse it back then?

And she is going to refuse now too?

"...Why?" Grandma Helene spoke only one word.

"Why you say?" Lady Vera chuckled. It looked as though she expected to hear such a question. "Fine, I'll tell you. However, I have to say one thing before I start. You underestimate yourself a lot, my dear friend."

"Ok, let me start then." Lady Vera said as three wooden numbers appeared in the air.

"One." The number one glowed in green color. "You are one of the seven [SS] rank Healers in the world. Known as the "Helene The Eternal Healer". Even though I'm ashamed to admit it, you enter the top two among the seven of us. Of course, I'm the third. Hehe."

"..." Grandma didn't say anything in response. But I could tell she was feeling proud. And she deserves it as well!

"Second." The number two glowed next. "Despite your Talent being an S rank, you managed to reach this far! Let me mention that time when you managed to heal a whole middle sized kingdom in one go while being just an S rank!"

"The third and the most important: You are a natural leader." The number three glowed. "You have exceptional leader skills. Back in the academy you were the wisest among our peers as well. Well except that dummy of course. Besides you ruled a kingdom for at least 30 years!"

"Are these enough? Or should I continue?"

"..."

"I will take that as a yes. And since it's enough, what is your answer?"

For the one last time, everyone went silent.

Everyone looked at Grandma, patiently waiting for her answer...
