Chapter 63: Earth

As Jack's escape pod entered the atmosphere, high above the Pacific Ocean, on a gigantic aircraft carrier floating several thousand meters above.

"Director, the satellite has detected an abnormality!" Maria Hill walks into the command room, handing a tablet to the person at the control panel.

"Ten minutes ago, an unidentified flying object suddenly appeared in outer space, then disappeared. However, just two minutes ago, an unidentified object was detected falling towards Earth in the atmosphere."

The director of SHIELD, Nick Fury, takes the tablet and examines it. Upon hearing about the appearance of an unknown flying object, his one remaining eye reveals a hint of urgency.

"Have we predicted the crash site?"

"It has been calculated it is expected to crash in the Eastern European region, specifically within Sokovia," Maria Hill reported to Nick Fury as he stood in the command center of a giant aircraft carrier hovering thousands of meters above the Pacific Ocean

"Sokovia?" Fury muttered, trying to recall the small, war-torn country. Sokovia was a country that had been tormented by conflict for years, and even the powerful organization of SHIELD had little influence there.

Fury realized it would be troublesome if the unidentified object crashed there. If his guess was correct, the country was in the midst of war and chaos, making it unsuitable for SHIELD operations.

"Send an elite team to Sokovia to find this unidentified object," Fury ordered.

"Understood," Hill acknowledged and left to make arrangements, while Fury felt a sense of unease. He had encountered a similar situation before, nearly destroying the world.

He only hoped that this time he was overthinking things.

.....

Sokovia

This is a small, mountainous, and poor country in Eastern Europe.

It borders Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and while its natural environment is good, the social environment is not looking good.

Due to its advantageous geographical location, Sokovia has always been the center of chaos, basically in a pattern of small fights every three days and big fights every five days.

As for official organizations, they are basically useless.

Despite being a country in turmoil, many people are unwilling to leave and are trying to bring peace back to their country through their own efforts.

They take to the streets daily, holding up big flags, protesting the senseless wars between different warlords, and demanding that all soldiers leave Sokovia.

There is a big chaos every time, but it always ends quickly.

This time was no exception, as a group of people protested and shouted on the streets all day, but aside from themselves, few responded.

The patrolling police officers even couldn't be bothered to deal with them, knowing they wouldn't cause much trouble. A slightly younger teenage boy and girl shouted louder than everyone else among the protesters.

Perhaps because of this, they were being watched.

Around the protesting crowd, some people in black slowly surrounded them. At first, the crowd didn't pay attention, but they were already surrounded by the time they realized.

"Damn it! It's the Intelligence Bureau!"

When the teenage boy saw the black-uniformed people, he knew their identity, and his face changed dramatically. Without hesitation, he grabbed the girl's hand and ran.

"Bam bam bam!!"

In almost the next second, several tear gas bombs were fired into the crowd from the surrounding corners, and the white tear gas gradually spread out. Suddenly, the massive crowd erupted into chaos, and protesters fell one after another.

At this moment, a group of people wearing gas masks rushed in to arrest people!

"Pietro, wait!"

The young girl gasped as she grabbed Pietro and asked, "Why do we have to run? Protesting isn't illegal!"

"The intelligence agency people don't care about that, Wanda."

Pietro looked around cautiously and, finding no one, explained helplessly to his sister, "Do you forget what happened last time? They arrested over a hundred innocent people, including us, to catch a so-called spy. Do you still want to spend a few days in prison?"

As soon as Wanda heard the word "prison," she shuddered involuntarily, and her expression was filled with fear, implying that the place had given her some unpleasant memories.

"Let's go home," Pietro said, feeling a bit guilty seeing his sister frightened by his words, but he didn't comfort her because it had become a normal part of their life.

"Hey! They're here!" Suddenly, at the end of the alley, several black-uniformed catchers appeared and spotted Pietro and Wanda rushing over.

"Damn it!" Pietro's face changed dramatically. He turned around and looked at his sister. They exchanged a knowing glance, nodded, and then ran towards two different forks in the road.

Of course, there was another reason.

"Chase that boy!" Someone among the pursuers shouted, and most of them rushed after the boy.

People were all chasing after Pietro, with only a few going after Wanda.

This was their plan. Every time they protested with someone or participated in a protest, Pietro would always be in the front, and Wanda, being a girl, was easily overlooked, which was a way to protect her.

Pietro, on the other hand, naturally received more attention because of his speed. He could lead a group of people through the city in a zigzag pattern, playing with them until he was ready to leave at his own pace.

His talent was running fast, and Wanda once said he could win many championships if he participated in the Olympics.

While Peter led people through the garden, Wanda encountered trouble on the other side. The people chasing her did not ease up their pursuit despite her being a girl, and they almost closed in on her with every step.

Unlike her brother, Wanda did not have any special talents, and after just half an hour, she was exhausted. In the end, she had no choice but to run into the deep forests outside the city, hoping to lose who followed her.

After successfully applying her long-held experience, Wanda managed to lose the people who were chasing her

Appearing from behind a tree in the forest, Wanda looked around and saw that no one was following her. She had really managed to lose her pursuers.

Now it was time to see how Pietro was doing.

Wanda wasn't worried about him, though, because he could always escape.

As she stood up and brushed the leaves off her clothes, Wanda began to walk toward her home. But then she looked up and saw a shooting star following a long tail of smoke coming straight at her.

"Damn it!"

Wanda's expression froze, and without thinking, she ran to one side

Bang!
