Chapter 121: Shopping

There are people who can block Jean's Telepathy, but so far, she has only encountered one, Professor Charles Xavier.

But even Professor Xavier is not completely immune to her powers.

However, facing Jack, she feels like she's facing a wall, no matter how much she tries to read his mind, she gets nothing, not even a single flaw to manipulate.

After all, being from a different universe, Jack still knows so much about her world and its people and events. Obviously, she is a very powerful person, perhaps even stronger than Professor Xavier.

"Alright, what are you planning to do this afternoon?"

Jack looks at Jean after drying his hands and asks, "Do you want to stay here or go out and roam the streets of New York in this world?"

"Um... I... I want to go out and see. Is that okay?"

Over twenty years have passed since she lived in a different time than this one, and she's very curious to see what technology looks like now, twenty years later.

"That's a good idea. I'll also buy you some things you need. You may have to stay here for a while."

Jack nodded and did not refuse. He was too busy buying groceries earlier and forgot to buy some things for Jean.

"Let's go!" he said, taking Jean out again.

Jack drove the car and took Jean to the city center. They stopped at the largest commercial square in Manhattan.

"We're...going to buy daily needs, right?" Jean appeared a bit restrained, following Jack closely, feeling uncomfortable in this unfamiliar environment.

Her eyes occasionally looked at the different luxury shops around, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, which were then deeply buried.

"Right, daily needs. I think clothes are also daily needs," Jack said, turning his head to look at the nervous Jean. He thought for a moment and suddenly grabbed Jean's hand walking towards a store and saying, "Come on, let me buy you some clothes. The clothes you're wearing are a bit outdated for this era."

When her hand was suddenly grabbed, Jean was surprised, but she didn't try to pull away. Instead, she had a strange feeling of security and became calmer.

Hearing that Jack wanted to buy her clothes, Jean's eyes lit up soon, as what girl doesn't like new clothes? But her excitement soon darkened as she realized she didn't have any money.

When she expressed her concern to Jack, he just laughed casually and said, "Don't be silly, girl. Of course, I'll pay for it." He then dragged her into a clothing store.

An hour later...

Jack walked out of the clothing store with several bags in his hand, and Jean followed closely behind him. But she looked completely different now.

She wore a red leather jacket with a slightly longer length that hugged her curvy hips. She wore it with tight jeans and boots that went up to her knees. Her hair was about waist-length and was pulled back into a ponytail. For some reason, Jean didn't like the cute and pretty clothes that the other girls wore. Jack was surprised that she liked a tougher, more casual style.

After trying on several outfits for over an hour, Jean couldn't decide which one she liked best. So, Jack simply waved his hand and bought them all.

The employees at the clothing store loved how he spent money like there was no tomorrow. When Jean learned how much he had spent on her, she felt ashamed and guilty.

"I'm really sorry," she said as they left the store, about to apologize for his generosity. Suddenly, Jack grabbed her and ran with excitement.

After walking for a while, they came to a jewelry shop. Jean felt uneasy when he looked at the expensive store. When she looked at Jack, she saw that his eyes were on fire.

This was not good...

Jean thought to herself, but obviously, other people didn't feel the same way. Especially the owner of the jewelry store. When Jack came out of the store with more bags.

.....

As night fell, Jack and Jean brought their bags home with them.

"Oh no, this is bad," Jack said, suddenly realizing a problem he had missed.

Wanda and Jean, Chaos Magic, and Phoenix Force didn't seem to get along very well in the comics. Would they fight in the movies?

Jack thought about it but couldn't quite figure it out. 'But thinking about Wanda's temper, she probably won't fight. She's a very gentle girl,' he said to himself. As for Jean.

He turned to look at Jean, who was feeling uneasy because of the lights on in the living room, and shrugged. 'She's also very gentle, so she probably won't fight either.'

With that in mind, Jack took Jean by the hand and walked towards the door, pushing it open. "Hey guys, sorry I'm late," he greeted them as they entered the living room.

When Jack walked in, he saw Wanda and Pietro lying on the couch, looking bored and sad.

Chloe was standing by and quickly walked over to take the shopping bags from Jack's hand.

"What's wrong with them?" he asked, curious as to why the siblings looked so bored and sad.

"It's because Pietro confessed his feelings to the girl he likes today and got rejected," Chloe honestly replied. "As for Wanda, she's on her period right now and will be for the next few days. The pain affects her mood, so she's been feeling very emotional lately."

"Oh, I understand now."

Putting down all the bags, Jack pulled Jean closer and introduced her to the two: "Let me introduce you to a new friend. This is Jean Grey. She'll be staying with us for a while, no more than a month."

"Huh?!"

"Huh!!"

The siblings had the same line but different reactions.

Pietro's eyes were almost glued to Jean's body, unable to remove them. There was no trace of his heartbreak on his face, and he clearly had a new target.

As for Wanda, she looked at Jean in disbelief, then at Jack, before finally reacting after a long while.

"She..."

She pointed at Jean and opened her lips but didn't know what to say, so she gave up.

However, there was obviously a bit of hatred in her gaze towards Jean.
