Chapter 194: Wrong Universe

In the only coffee shop in Westview, Jack and Wanda sat across from each other.

While stirring the coffee, Wanda told her story slowly. After hearing what Wanda had to say, Jack made a first guess.

This Wanda came from a parallel universe, where everything happened according to the plot without his existence.

Vision, in the end, couldn't escape the fate of being destroyed.

After the Battle of Endgame, Wanda arrived at the place of their small home that Vision had planned, which was Westview.

Here, Wanda thought about the past and understood that she would never see Vision again. Her chaos magic exploded because of her emotions.

Then, she forcefully used magic to create a living Vision.

Not only that, but she made the whole town of Westview look like a show.

Everyone in the town, including the people who lived there, was held captive and forced to act according to Wanda's will.

No wonder Jack always felt that something was off.

In this way, Wanda had the best days of her whole life.

However, the disappearance of an entire town couldn't remain hidden for long, and soon, S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division) came when they followed the strange happenings here.

"Wait, what is S.W.O.R.D.?"

Jack interrupted Wanda, asking with a puzzled expression, "Is it like S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Jack had heard of S.W.O.R.D. in the comics, but he wasn't clear about the specifics or what their purpose was.

"Similar. After S.H.I.E.L.D.'s collapse, S.W.O.R.D. appeared," Wanda shrugged and said,

"But Hill told me that they were around long before that, but they were just hiding in the dark. When S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, they had to come out and clean up the mess."

"They also have Vision's body."

Jack raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Let me guess, they stole Vision as their property and won't let you take him away?"

"That's correct,"

Wanda shrugged again and said, "But it doesn't matter. Vision is already dead; it's just a technology body."

"And... I think they might be able to... fix him."

As she finished speaking, Wanda lowered her head, her tone becoming sad.

Jack understood and said that if he were in her place, he might have pressured S.W.O.R.D. to speed up the process.

After adjusting for a moment, Wanda let out a sigh and said,

"Okay, I've finished telling my story. Now it's your turn. Who are you? How did you come here? And most importantly... how is it possible that my powers don't affect you?"

The last was what Wanda was most curious about.

S.W.O.R.D. had sent people into Westview to investigate, but they all lost themselves under her powers.

But Jack, who did not lose at all, was a rare incident.

"Oh, perhaps I'm just special,"

Jack casually said, "I know what chaos magic is. I have seen it often, so I guess I have gotten used to it."

"Chaos magic?"

Wanda furrowed her brow and asked, "What do you mean by chaos magic?"

"That's your ability,"

Jack looked surprised at Wanda's puzzled expression and asked, "Don't you know the origin of your powers?"

"Didn't Strange tell you?"

Wanda shook her head and said, "No, he didn't. But after defeating Thanos, he did warn me to be cautious with my powers."

Looking at Jack, she asked, "You seem familiar with it. Can you explain?"

"Of course." Jack nodded and organized his thoughts. Slowly, he began to explain.

"Firstly, your ability, chaos magic, isn't something you get through the Mind Stone, as you might think. It's an innate power you possess."

"I was born with it?"

"Yes, you were born with it."

Jack nodded and continued, "Chaos magic is the unique power of the Elder God known as Chthon. As for Chthon... I'm not very familiar with the entity, but if you need more information, you can ask Doctor Strange. He should have relevant records."

"Returning to the main point, This magic can manipulate, warp, and reconstruct the very fabric of existence and reality to yourself, just like what you did when you created a Vision and took control of the entire Westview."

"Do you remember the bomb that fell into your house when you were a kid? The reason it didn't explode was likely due to your chaos magic."

After finishing his explanation, Jack took a sip of coffee, giving Wanda some time to process the information.

Wanda was truly shaken by what she had just heard. She had always believed that the Mind Stone granted her powers, but now it seemed that wasn't true.

Although she didn't fully believe Jack's words, she planned to ask Doctor Strange about the origin of chaos magic when she returned.

"Alright, we've introduced ourselves and discussed a bit. Now let's talk about the situation,"

Jack interrupted Wanda's thoughts and said, "You caused quite a lot of chaos this time, and it has even affected my world. Let's discuss whether it's possible to undo the magic."

Wanda hesitated. She didn't want to lose Vision again.

These days had been the happiest time of her life, and she couldn't bear to let go of them.

Moreover, she had recently had two children. Children she had with Vision.

Seeing Wanda's expression, Jack could guess her concerns.

He spoke with a serious tone, "Wanda, one must look forward. If Vision were still alive, he wouldn't want to see you like this."

It was a classic line that aimed to motivate someone, but not everyone would react to it.

But it was clear that Jack had made a mistake because Wanda kept quiet and did not seem to be moved by what he said.

Observing the situation, Jack sighed helplessly.

"Well, how about this..."

After hesitating for a moment, he cautiously asked, "What if I help you bring Vision back to life?"

At first, he didn't want to do this because resurrecting Vision made him feel like he was playing with fate.

"What?!"

Finally, Wanda reacted with disbelief, looking at Jack and asking again, "What did you just say?"

"Bring Vision back to life!" Jack repeated.

Wanda's eyes suddenly lit up, but the light faded just as quickly.

"It's useless. The Time Stone has been destroyed, and Doctor Strange warned me that changing the fact of Vision's death could lead to trouble even worse than Thanos' snap."

"But you don't have to worry about that," Jack smiled.

"I've changed timelines before. Not long ago, I helped an alternate version of Doctor Strange save his universe. He tried to save his dead lover, but messed up the timeline and made the entire universe fall apart like a wardrobe. I was able to fix it, but it took a lot of work."

"In any case, I'm well aware of this matter, and if I do it, nothing bad will happen."

"As for the Time Stone, I have a way."
