Chapter 26: Queens

"You're all crazy! Please give me a rest." She said as she shut her door on them and overheard their conversation."Why would you ask her that?" Elijah said."Then why are you asking her that? You already know that it will make your parents mad," Carlyle told him."I--I--" Elijah stopped talking."Stop... We shouldn't be fighting, I love you as a brother, and nothing will change that," Carlyle said as she heard their footsteps going away from her chambers. She arranged the telescope before her window and went to bed. She sat down, slowly removed her hose, and saw her foot was swollen. After how many minutes, there was a knock on her door; she slowly went to open it and saw an ointment, clothes, and everything she needed for her foot. She looked around and saw nothing but the objects on her door."Thank you!" She shouted, and he heard her.She went back to her bed and applied the ointment. It was a bit stingy, but she needed to endure it, and after that, she wrapped the clean cloth around her foot carefully, and she was done. It made her feel better, and she went to sleep.-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_A new day, a new beginning. Ayla woke up and opened her windows like her mother did in her room. She fixed herself on her own and happily went to Isabella's chambers, where everyone was gathered."Did you two have sex in the very, very comfy mat that's more likely to be a bed?" Amy excitedly asked as Ayla entered the room, and the girls waited for her story."Wh--What a very vulgar word to say. Keep quiet," Ayla said as Hannah went to her side and guided her to the comfy seats."Then what did you two do? I heard he dismissed his assistant to leave you two alone." Mia said as she was very exuberant."We just viewed the stars," Ayla told them."What kind of date is that? It's not fun at all," Amy murmured."It's actually fun, and I love his efforts. He let me fly beyond the skies." Ayla adored the King of Losman."Ayla?!" The Queen barged into Isabella's chamber, and everyone immediately stood up."Yes, your Highness?" She said"I need you in the entrance right now before the trumpet blows," The Queen demanded as she immediately walked out.Ayla had a hard time keeping to the Queen's speed because of her injury, but she ensured the Queen wouldn't take advantage of it.The trumpets went off, and the nobles were gathered in the front yard. Ayla endured the pain and she just ran to the yard. The ladies from Serdruan were also gathered there after a carriage was seen coming."What's going on?" Ayla asked them."I know that flag," Isabella said as she moved closer and saw it."Queen Reagent Fiona is here!" Stacey said."She's here!" Hannah said as she cheered in silence. As soon as she stepped out from the carriage, her radiance spread across the crowd."She's so beautiful," Ayla praised as she could feel her heart shouting in joy.Everyone bowed in her presence, and she walked towards the king and Queen of Serdruan."Fiona!!! It's been so long," Queen Alexandria said as she kissed her on her cheek."It has only been a year, Alexandria," Queen Fiona said."It's nice to have you back, Fiona," King Robert said as he kissed her hand.Queen Fiona looked around the crowd and saw her stepdaughter and her friends. She asked them to go to her as soon as they approached her. Queen Fiona saw Ayla and was very curious about her."Who's the lady over there?" She asked."That's Ayla, your majesty!" Hannah excitedly told her."Don't mind her; she's just a maid," Queen Alexandria said as she held her shoulder."Then why isn't she dressed like one? We have a dress code to follow, and our clothes represent our rank. I'm expecting she's a noble," Queen Fiona said as she couldn't get her eyes off her."My son adores her, that's why," Queen Alexandria said. They all went inside, and Ayla followed them from behind.-_-_-_-_-_-_-_The night came, and while Ayla was going around the castle, she heard a conversation between queens."Oh! Fiona~ please stop crying," Queen Alexandria said as she tapped her shoulder."You always cry yearly a day before, during, and after her birthday." She said as she continuously comforted her."Can't we just announce her death to the people? It's been ten years already," Queen Alexandria said."It's been ten years, yet I still feel her close to me! She's not yet dead, Alexandria!!" She shouted at her."The investigators already told us that there is no chance that she's alive," Alexandria told her."She's still alive! I know it because she's my child!" Fiona defended as she can still feel her daughter's presence."Can't we just give up? There's no chance that she'll come back," Alexandria is trying so hard to persuade her."I gave my daughter to you so you could protect her as your own!!! But you lost her." Fiona was mad."That's not my fault! You can't even protect your daughter!" Alexandria said."There's no way my daughter is dead. I kept our friendship for years because I knew that I still needed your support, and this time, the Kaastian army was suppressing our borders." Fiona told her."You don't understand Fiona. I have no military power, and the king will never send you additional troupes because there's no guarantee that your daughter is still alive to keep our alliance valid." Alexandria said."The country I came from is slowly cutting my resources, and I don't know if I can still manage Egothedia for much longer. My time is limited, Alexandria," Fiona said. She held Alexandra's hand."What do you mean your time is limited?" She asked."I will tell you sooner or later," Fiona said.Ayla was crying in the distance as she heard their conversation. She felt like her heart was getting pricked by a lot of torns. She doesn't know why she's hurting like this, but she knows that Queen Fiona still can't get over her daughter's disappearance.
