Excerpt: 

“ENOUGH!” I roar in my Alpha tone. “You will not put your hands on me! YOU….you will be the one to submit!” All of the waiters in the room dropped to their knees and bare their necks. I know I am a strong Alpha and try not to use my tone unless absolutely necessary. Even some of the Alphas watching have trouble remaining in their seats since I am easily stronger than many.

Mates: The Beginning

Kehlani stops responding to Issac and stares daggers at Jayden. Jayden is stunned into silence and watches her at the bottom of the stairs. Issac realizes that Kehlani has stopped responding and is focused elsewhere. He follows Kehlani’s gaze and immediately senses what may be about to happen. 


“Uh…..I think I will just let you two talk.” Issac nervously starts to back away towards the stairs. He turns to climb up the stairs and gives Jayden a sad look as he goes. Jayden tentatively walks toward Kehlani, and her gaze never falters. He stops a few feet from Kehlani and stands there waiting. Kehlani closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She opens her eyes and looks straight at Jayden.
