Excerpt: 

“ENOUGH!” I roar in my Alpha tone. “You will not put your hands on me! YOU….you will be the one to submit!” All of the waiters in the room dropped to their knees and bare their necks. I know I am a strong Alpha and try not to use my tone unless absolutely necessary. Even some of the Alphas watching have trouble remaining in their seats since I am easily stronger than many.

Mates: The Beginning

I sit next to Kehlani and am numb. I, never in my wildest dreams, would have thought that this would have happened to me and by the mother of my child, no less. I just can’t wrap my mind around it. I’m so lost in my thoughts it took Kehlani’s touch to jolt me back to reality. Dr. Smith is looking at me with concern. “I’m fine. I was just lost in thought for a bit.” That seems to bring some relief to the doctor, and he sits back in the armchair and clears his throat.
