The message ding brings us out of our haze. It was Oliver's phone, he unlocked his phone and typed furiously. His movements made me remember Fred's words, "Have there been any new members added to your group?" I shake my head, throwing all the thoughts out of my head.
When I come to sense, I saw Lily looking at me. I looked back at her, and she asked me with eyes, 'What happened?' I just shook my head and took a sip of my coffee.
"So, what to do now?" Alex asked.
"We need to think something, before he strikes again. We can't let him kill someone again."
"Alex, is saying right, we can't let him strike again, but we don't even have a clue besides that F. What to do now?" Ethan supported Alex.
I was confused, really confused, I was not feeling well at all. "Loveena." Lily called me softly, I snapped out. She put a hand on my shoulder, and squeezed it reassuringly. I look at her and give her a smile.
"Loveena lead the way." Everyone said in chorus. I was startled and looked at everyone alarmed. We all looked at each other and burst out laughing hard.
"But really say something because we are confused, honey." Grace said.
"Yes, totally confused." Nora said supporting Grace.
I took a deep breath, and started to talk, "To be honest, I'm confused too. Reason number one, till now I studied so many cases, I read so many fictions and real stories, but I never ever heard or read that killer has left a clue behind. Either that is to mislead us, or he really wants to challenge us and that means he is sharper than us."
Lily and Alex opened their mouth to talk, I held a finger up to stop them, "Yes he is smarter than us. Reason number one to think he is smart, he left a clue behind in the form of a letter, so this proves that he is so confident that he believes that we can't catch him. Second, he was fully prepared, and he knew that she was a sort of big personality, and because of that only he targeted her."
"So, now coming back to the topic about why I'm confused, the second reason is, I don't know why, but I think there was a reason behind killing her. It feels like this is not a simple revenge case or not just a psycho serial killer, there is a story behind this murder, or murders which are going to happen in the near future." I was having a headache, because of thinking so hard.
I sipped my coffee and one thought popped up in my mind, "Hey!" I shouted just enough to startle everyone on our table. I saw Oliver from the corner of my eye, he was still busy chatting, and it was surprising, it was like he was too much busy. It felt a bit suspicious to me, but I ignored it as I wanted to discuss important things.
"Come on guys, let's go to my room, we need to discuss something important, and we can't discuss it here." I looked around and now there was one couple. We paid the bill and got to my room it was not a long walk, from my room to the cafe it was a 15 minutes walk. We all got to my room and took our places.
"So, you want to discuss about missing head." Lily said before I could open my mouth to talk.
"Yes, I want to discuss about it, what do you think guys?" I wanted to know their opinion.
"I guess he is a psycho, and has a sort of an addiction of head?" Nora said. I look at her, giving her a look. "Ok, ok now don't give me that look, I know it sounds filmy, but can't deny that theory too." She had a point.
"Hmm, that is right, Nora, we can't deny any theory till we don't understand this killer a little more." I was feeling confused.
"It can be that, that this killer is doing that to make it suspicious? He may not even be a psycho, but does he just want to show it?" Alex said, he was also having a point. And now it started to make me more confused.
"I guess, he is trying to show cruelty, he wants everyone to fear him. So only he left that message for you, he wants everyone in terror." Ethan said. He had a point too.
"I will go with Nora's point, because I think he is a psycho. So he has that addiction for sure." Grace supported Nora.
I looked at Lily. She was standing quite with her hands folded. "Lily." I called her out. She was startled and looked around and then at me. There was something going on in her mind.
"Y-yes? What happened?" I knew that rather than pushing her now, let's talk later.
"Nothing, just felt like you were distracted, so I called you." She relaxed a bit.
"So, to be honest, I'm feeling too confused now. I can't decide which way I should go. But I really need to get to a point first, then only I can investigate it somehow, or at least start it. I think this is a revenge thing, because the pain he has given to the victim while killing, is unimaginable. It is pure torture, and this mostly happens when it is a revenge or if that person is a psycho." I was still feeling confused and don't know why, but there was this vibe. We finished our discussion by 11 am, and everyone left except Oliver and Lily.
I broke the silence, "So Lily, what do you want to say on this topic?" she was startled again. I was having an odd vibe about her now, not in a bad way, but there was something bothering her. I was not able to point it out, but one thing for sure, she knew something.
What did Lily knew? Why is Oliver acting weird? What was the intention of the killer behind cutting the heads? I don't know what is happening, but there is no doubt that something bad is going to happen. A silence before the storm.
