CHAPTER 32- ...IF I CAN'T GET CLOSE TO YOU...

Janice's mother didn't open the restaurant because they were low on food supplies. She'd picked that day as the perfect day for stocking up. At dawn, she'd woken everybody up. Janice was to gather a whole list full of herbs from the woods far away, while her mother was to get the rest of the numerous items from the market.

"I'll go with Janice." Bren chipped in. Janice's mother sighed. "Bren...''

"I just want to make sure Janice is safe. I'll wear my cloak, and we'll be extra careful. I promise." Janice obviously wanted Bren to go with her too because she'd already started making puppy pleading eyes at her mother. Janice's mother sighed. "Alright, but be careful."

"We promise!" They chorused.

Bren put on a thick, heavy cloak and followed Janice out. "Let me." He said. Bren took the basket she was holding, and Janice giggled.
