19 SHOWING UP
“Did your parents go abroad? It’s almost eleven. Yet, they still weren’t here.” Illeon’s parents would probably rush here quickly if they heard their precious daughter inside a CLINIC WARD. But that would only happen if they didn’t know anything about me at all.
‘Might be, Grandma had already warned Illeon’s parents. they would have been sick if they hadn't seen their daughter.
Grandma definitely sensed something on me.’
Lourdez Timothy can fight against that living dead with no hurdle and hesitation, as if she is already accustomed with that kind of phenomenon.
Though I already knew that the mortal world has dramas about zombies but that was all fictional. If people witnessed it in reality, they would have freaked out. Just a single scene with it would cause turmoil online. But then, the virtual world is too silent with it.
Timothy might not just be a normal family here in the mortal world. THEY MIGHT BE THE DESCENDANTS OF THE FIRST GUARDIANS IN THIS WORLD.
Is this also the reason why I came back 15 days before?
Are they the ones who were fighting that day?
But Illeon’s memory has no reconciliation about the guardian thing.
“I couldn’t even go home….”I raised my eyebrow at him and he saw it. He crossed his hand at me and said, “Why?... I’m not just your outside friend you know, I’m one of Timothy’s secret guards. Just having the precious Daughter of Timothy in our care is an honor.”
I rolled my eyes in disbelief. I gestured to his laptop On the bed beside me where I was lying down. And it seems like he understood what I was referring to because he gave me his laptop.
“Hey, I found this weird… Mrs. Lourdes didn’t call me today to give her what she ordered for me. Rather unusual…”
I typed something on his laptop before I turned the screen to him. [ALSO YOU]
His eyes widened in disbelief of what I typed. “Nothing unusual about me.”
I shook my head and typed again. [YOU ARE NOISIER THAN BEFORE. HAVE YOU ALREADY REALIZED YOUR INBORN CHATTERBOX TALENT IS ALREADY SHOWING?]
“Tsk. You do love to annoy me. If I wasn’t here, this place would have been cursed by gloom because you never talk about anything.”
[CURSE…WHAT?...WANT SOME BEATING?]
“I tell — what I see.” He said in a thick tone.
tsked….
“By the way, I was ordered to transfer here. And it was too early for me to move out. Yet, I accidentally saw the folder I was about to deliver, and it contained all my information. Instead of having me for next week, I'll be starting tonight. TOMORROW WILL BE MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.”He made a sour face. “BUT I WAS EXPECTING THAT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WILL GIVE ME A TOUR… SO HOPELESS OF ME.” He said giving me a pity look
Damn…Grandma is already starting to show her real impression of me. But this sudden change is too soon. This incident might have happened before I came back in this timeline.
Trevor wouldn’t have shown himself in that situation. With how calm he was when he showed behind me on the rescue, that only proved that T has something to do with Grandma Lourdes.
He’s too naive.
“Hey, why are you looking at me like that? I’m just stating the facts.”
I turned away my gaze at him and looked at the internet icon on the laptop. “Did the nurse give you the wifi password?”
“NA-AH. I just hacked their system. They seemed annoyed when I asked for their wifi.”
“Annoyed?... Looks like before you asked it, you already run amok on their system.” I yawned.
“Tsk…. The privacy in this tiny clinic doesn’t have boundaries at all. You became instantly famous just a few seconds after playing your siezure. ”
I signaled him to get his laptop and he did. I slowly leaned my back on the bed head and closed my eyes. He might have pulled it down with his computer skills when there is no more video about me available online.
“What’s the use of it? This place is a tiny world that treats me as the greatest villain celebrity… Just a sight of me will make their curiosity burst, especially if I'm having that kind of attack.”
Bet he’s making an annoying face at me right now.
“What a funny villain… NOT BECAUSE YOU EXIST IN THEIR EYES YOU WILL JUST ACCEPT HOW THEY SOCIALLY CONSTRUCTED YOU. No one has the right to judge someone as the greatest of the worst not even your own self."
'Socially constructed, my ass,' I cursed in my head. If I keep responding, he will never stop giving me lectures. And I might have a second attack because of it.
He sighed "...Now that you want to rest, Let me rest too.”
I heard cracking as he said that. I opened my eyes and turned my head at the cracking sound and my eyes widened when I suddenly saw an extra bed beside me.
“When did you have that bed?” I asked him.
He stretched his arms. “This bed is already here.” HE’S LYING.
THIS PLACE MIGHT BE A SPECIAL WARD ESPECIALLY MADE FOR ME BUT NOTHING EXTRA BED HAD BEEN ADDED TO THIS WARD’S LIST. AND THAT WOULDN’T JUST APPEAR IN A MERE SECOND WITHOUT A PERFECT MAGIC OR AN ILLUSION. AND I DIDN’T SEE THAT BED A WHILE AGO.
I don’t sense anything on him, Augustia’s soul doesn’t show a bit of him.
“Lol, you’re just too tired. The side effects of the medicine are already kicking in in your system… just rest. There is more time for tomorrow.”
I don’t think I could trust him completely.
*****
IT’S ALREADY THREE IN THE MORNING, I woke up silently and witnessed extraordinary on Trevor’s body.
He is in deep sleep, not because he is a sleeper, but he is in a state of spell. Then I sensed someone behind the closed door of our ward. He’s just standing there. Not even dare to move the knob. As if he is waiting for me to open it myself.
I sighed and massaged my forehead as I realized who it was. “No wonder you just left like that.”
I said and he could hear it as I saw his silhouette piercing through the door window move his head. He opened the door and casted more spells around the room before he entered.
“Just like my bet, you are not her.”
I can already move my body so I sat down and looked at her with boredom. He completely showed himself as the light of this small ward hit her. Yes, her. None other than Grandma Lourdez in her man-suit.
“And you are a mortal guardian.” I added.
Her expression gloom as I said that to her. “So you knew.” I just guess that now. Her outfit says it all and I just added the term ‘MORTAL’ because she has no soul of an Augustia at all.
“So, I was right.” I turned my gaze at the sleeping Trevor. “The reason why Trevor is here. I want it.”
“You really had no pack of shame. After you stole my granddaughter's body you have the guts to order me.” Stole? I didn’t steal her body. Instead she gave it to me along with her constructed personalities that I couldn’t even break through completely.
“That’s a heavy word. I didn’t force you at all to deliver Trevor to me, personally.”
She looked at me, disheveled, before she said, 'You saw those.' I paused for a moment. She really did mean those living dead.
“What?”
“The zombie.”
I laughed at her. So those things have a name on her. I didn’t expect her to call them by that low name. They are not zombies, they are just sick people that went crazy until they died. Yet, they still have minds to infect others.
“Enough.” Even though there are a lot of questions running in my mind right now of how those beings came into this world, I couldn’t bring myself to ask it. Because I know, it is my fault. If that really is the same as what Dad created, it only means that the Guardians are not the only one hunting me. They are also looking for me.
“The scene I saw is even more confusing than what you're saying right now. How could a zombie even exist?! Mistaking me for your granddaughter doesn’t change what I saw from you.”
“So ghosts really do lie.” As she said that, I suddenly felt a strong grab in my neck. She was just standing there, watching me while controlling the flow of the tiny wind in this room strangled me.
