42 First Bloodshed 1
Just as we jumped, blood suddenly splattered across my face. We hadn’t even landed yet when a severed head flew toward us from the second floor of the sports building. My eyes instinctively followed it, then darted up toward where it came from, but I saw no one.
No… I definitely saw someone who just caught my eyes. But—
why him?
The moment my feet hit the ground, a sharp pain shot through my ankle. I sprained it. But the physical pain didn’t matter to me. Instead who I saw pained me more. I could barely breathe. I shook my head in disbelief.
“Hey, are you okay?”
But I couldn’t hear Trevor. My eyes were still locked on the second floor, desperately searching for the figure I thought I saw.
I still couldn’t believe it.
It wasn’t possible.
Life had already been forced out from them.
“Illeon,” Trevor stood in front me, covering my view and looking at me with concern. “There’s no time for your attacks again. Our lives are on the line right now.”
