Cindy was feeling better after the bike riding session. Alexander's surprise was also a cherry on top. She did not ask when or how he thought of doing such a thing but warmth pooled from every corner of her heart when she thought about it.
They slowly rode back home. This time, they stopped at a bridge that overlooked the city. The lights were illuminating the water making it look as though it was shining.
They got off their bikes and went to stand on the bridge. Alexander took Cindy's hand in his own and gave a soft smile, "Do you remember this place?"
A flash of embarrassment could be seen on Cindy's face but she had a very thick skin so it was gone before Alexander even noticed. She coughed, "How…how could I not?"
How could she not?
She remembered very clearly that this was the same place she threatened Alexander that she would throw him over the bridge and into the river. That was when she was seventeen!
