Cindy and Alexander reluctantly let go of each other's hands as they began to prepare for the evening's festivities. The anticipation of the ball was palpable, and Cindy could feel her excitement building as she moved toward the wardrobe to pick out her outfit. But as she sifted through her clothes, her excitement quickly faded. She realized with a sinking feeling that she hadn't packed anything formal enough for the event. Most of her dresses were casual, suited for a relaxed vacation, not a grand ball filled with the capital's elite.

She frowned slightly, biting her lip as she wondered what she could possibly wear. But before she could voice her concerns, Alexander had already noticed her hesitation. He crossed the room to her side, his expression thoughtful.

"Something wrong?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Cindy glanced at him, her worry evident in her eyes. "I didn't bring anything suitable for the ball tonight. I didn't think it would be this formal…"
