Into the abyss

Gianna froze as the lights flickered once, then vanished entirely, plunging her room into darkness. The only illumination came from the faint glow of the moonlight seeping in through the window, casting eerie shadows across the walls. Her breath caught in her throat as she instinctively reached out for something—anything—to steady herself.

"What the hell is going on?" she muttered to herself, her voice trembling slightly as she fumbled for her phone on the bedside table.

The room was unnervingly silent, save for the distant murmur of the ocean outside. Gianna's heart pounded in her chest as she turned on the flashlight of her phone, the beam slicing through the inky blackness. But it did little to ease the growing sense of dread curling in the pit of her stomach.
