Just in case, Luffy gave a mental order to the cloud containing all the treasures to rise up into the sky.
"Hey, there's someone over there!" Usopp said while pointing to the port side of the ship. Everyone turned and saw the shadows of two people moving.
"We have to be on guard," said Nojiko as she took out her iron staff. Luffy didn't say anything; he just looked at the ship with narrowed eyes. When the ship sailed a little further, more human silhouettes appeared.
This time they were on both sides of the aqueduct, and the sound of cheers filled the air. As they emerged from the fog, everyone looked on both sides of the waterway; there were people lining up, cheering, and waving as their ships sailed through the channel.
Everyone, including Luffy, was very confused by what happened, and they all had the same thought in their heads.
"What kind of place welcomes pirates?" they all thought as they stared at the Whisky Peak citizens with confused expressions on their faces.
"Welcome to the Grand Line!" one man shouted from the shore as the crew sailed away.
"Greetings and good luck, great adventurer!" another shouted.
"We're glad you guys made it to Whisky Peak!" Someone else shouted. The entire crew was stunned beyond belief as a town welcomed pirates with open arms. While everyone was stunned by what was going on, Usopp felt relieved.
"Those aren't monsters; they're humans," he said with a sigh of relief.
"People who welcome pirates," Yosaku said in a surprised voice.
"The Grand Line really is a strange place," said Johnny, shaking his head. Luffy, Nami, and Zoro, however, felt suspicious of the citizens and their behaviour, while everyone in the crew started smiling and waving back at people.
Sanji glanced at the girls who were there. Usopps pulled out his brave warrior pose, while everyone was smiling and waving at people.
Luffy looked at Zoro, who was standing on his right, and gave a small nod, telling him to keep his guard up. Luffy then walked over to Nami and whispered in her ear.
"While they're asleep, I want you to do what you usually do," he whispered, causing Nami to smile before she nodded her head. As the ship docked, the crew made their way to the main deck, getting ready to head out with Luffy leading them.
Behind the group were Johnny and Yosaku, with Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9 tied. Every crew member left the ship except for Johnny and Yosaku, along with Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9. Luffy told them to stay on the ship until he called them.
Coming down to the beach, Luffy and his crew stand in front of a tall man with a small red nose who has blond hair styled in a style that resembles a wig and carries a saxophone.
"Welcome, *cough* *cough*, Mamama." "Welcome, my name is Igarampoi, and it is my honour as mayor to welcome you to Whisky Peak," the man now named Igarampoi said in a friendly voice that of course Luffy couldn't believe.
"My name is Luffy; thank you for welcoming us," said Luffy with a fake warm smile, which the man accepted.
"You'll find that this is a place that thrives on making liquor and music," said Igarampoi with a smile while talking to Luffy. "Hospitality is the pride of our city." "Our smiles flow with the liquor; they flow as much as the sea," he said.
"That's good to hear," said Luffy as his smile dropped. "We took two passengers on our way here who came from this city and promised us gold as payment for bringing them here, and I hope to have the gold otherwise, because there is blood in this city that will flow as much as sea water," said Luffy in an emotionless voice that caused Igarampoi to take a step back before he spoke again.
"Can I see these two people, who you say are from our city?" he asked, causing Luffy to nod his head before looking back at the ship.
"Johnny! Yosaku!" Luffy called out, and two seconds later Johnny and Yosaku, along with the man and woman, came out. "I believe they are named Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9," said Luffy as he looked back at the man in the wig.
When he looked at the man in the wig, Luffy saw the man's face take a moment of annoyance before he quickly changed it to a happy smile.
"Oh yeah, they're both from here," said Igarampoi as he turned his attention back to Luffy. "And don't worry, you will be compensated for returning the two back home."
Now, please allow us to throw a party for your arrival so we can hear "You Guy's adventure story." He said it with a warm smile. Luffy flashed his fake smile back before he answered.
"We would be honoured," said Luffy as he walked over and shook Igarampoi's hand before the two of them turned to walk into town. As they were about to leave, Nami spoke to Igarampoi.
How long did it take the logging station to record this island's magnetic field? Nami asked while raising her hand in a log pose. Igarampoi looked at him and smiled before speaking.
"Oh, don't worry about that," he said as he walked towards Nami, causing Luffy to narrow his eyes while Nami stared at him with a confused look on her face.
"We can talk about boring details like that later." "Surely you want to rest after your trip, right?" he said as he placed his hand on Nami's shoulder.
"Now let's get ready for the party!" "Sing and have fun!" "Entertain our guests!" Igarampoi shouted, causing the townspeople to cheer loudly along with Sanji and Usopp.
Igarampoi led the crew to a small bar, where everyone sat down and started drinking and eating. Luffy didn't believe anything about this town, so he took out his own drink and started drinking, and this action of Luffy made the townspeople think he was drinking something they gave him.
Just then a big party happens inside the bar: the band plays uplifting music, Sanji flirts with every girl he sees, Usopp tells his heroic stories about defeating some monsters, Nami and Nojiko have a drinking competition against some townspeople, and Zoro and the Bounty duo hunters are drinking in a corner of the room.
From what Luffy observed, Zoro told the two of them to stay alert and not trust the people in this strange city. As the night progresses, Luffy's crew and the townspeople are getting drunk.
It wasn't until midnight when Luffy started noticing his crew members starting to faint one by one. At first, he just thought they drank too much, but when Zoro passed out, Luffy realised that their drinks must have been spiked because there was no way Zoro could faint from the amount of sake he drank.
Deciding to go along with the scenario for the time being, Luffy acted as if he too had fainted to see what these people were up to.
After pretending to be asleep for an hour, Luffy got up and slipped out through the roof before jumping onto a nearby building and hiding in the shadows. He could see, standing outside the bar he had just entered, Igarampoi talking to Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9.
