Chapter 4

Rick Pov

He's frantically moving among the bodies. And the bodies belongs to the local police department, where his mom and Serrin's dad both work.

It is a really haunting scene , both heartbreaking and terrifying. This kind of thing never happened before.

The most crime happened here is pickpocketing or stealing or fight between neighbors. That's why it's such shocking thing to us.

And the way the dead bodies laying on the ground like a heap of sacks, is really disturbing.

"What are you doing?", said Rudra with terror clear in his high pitched voice.

But Neil ignored him and continued his body digging stopping only once to say,

"Are you not coming ? Did you forget about your dad?"

"Of course not! " And Serrin also joined him in his madness.

I somehow gathered my courage and walked towards them. I took out my torchlight and flashed at the bodies.

I checked the bodies thoroughly but there is no marks except punctures on neck. It is same as explained in school. Shit!

"Serrin , Neil stop touching the bodies. It's the monster  !!! It's the monster  !!! "

But the bastards didn't pay any attention. Too busy among the corpses, to see that we could end up joining the dead bodies.

"Eww! What is this? "  Serrin cried out in a disgusted tone.  He asked me to flash light there.

Unfortunately for him I was right. There was some of type white fluid coming out from the bodies.

"Ahh!! What is this? " He is both shocked and  terrified.  He threw the body in his hands and scooted away from them.

" It was the monster ,no the vampire ! " , I said in rushed tone.

"What ! vampire? "  (Serrin)

"We don't have time to waste. We have to get out of here of fast. " (Rick)

"Yes, let's not stay here anymore.  We have get back to the town as soon as possible."  (Anima)  "Neil, stop it already!"

Surprisingly he stopped and stood up. But he still had that blank face on.

"Serrin, your father nor my mom is here."  (Neil)

"That's good news then." (Rudra)

"Not really. "  (Neil)

"Why not ? "   (Rudra)

" They still could be in danger or even dead elsewhere. "  (Neil)

"Stop spouting nonsense. I sure they are alive and well. My dad is too strong  to die here like this. "  ( Serrin)

"Not when the adversity is clearly stronger and have murdered ten police officers effortlessly ." (Neil)

"Why do you mean by effortlessly? " (Serrin)

"See , there is no sign of fighting here nor any bullet was used . It is really puzzling to say the least."  , Rudra said in a wary tone.

"Thank you Mr. Homes but we don't have time for this. Let's go guys. " , I am really annoyed as they are acting like this is some kind of TV show when we should have ran away at first glance.

It's not safe and I have to get Anima away but they don't look like they were going anywhere soon. What do I do now?

"If we can come  to search for Amon then why not now? "  (Neil)

"Because there is a monster in the forest! "

I am literally shaking  in anger at his idiotic question.

"Whatever you say, I am not going back. "

"And I will take you back with me, even with force! Neil really , stop your childishness! "

Now I am shouting on top of lungs but he did not look a single bit convinced.

"I am going to look for my dad too. So count me in. " (Serrin)

" What will you gain by going? Do you think you can do what ten fully trained police officers could not do? You only lose your life if you go. " (Rudra)

"Then I will lose my  life, I guess. But I can't go back knowing my dad is in life threatening situation." (Serrin)

It's seems this is not going to be our day to breathe. As all of sudden , there is a thunderous noise which shook the whole forest cracking the silent night.

There is no where to run now. We are trapped in the forest with a monster who is going to rip us apart.

We are is in a badly written horror film where no survives. Why I did come in the first place?

"Now, what? " I shouted pointing at Neil. "It's all your fault. If we left when I said then today wouldn't be our last day. "

"You are one who took us all here in the first place. So you don't get to complain Rick."

  (Neil)

"Rick, Neil calm down. Don't get so agitated, besides I think its a gunshot. "    (Serrin)

"Gunshot?? Are you sure ? " (Anima)

"Yes , absolutely! " (Serrin)

"But it could be the monster. " (Anima)

Her voice is reflecting distress and frustration of the situation.

" Don't think so, the sound is totally of firing bullet. " (Serrin)

Though she doesn't know but Serrin is obsessed with guns. He is both talking and walking guns' dictionary.

"You talk like you handled guns before?"  (Anima)

"Let's just say, I have some knowledge. "

(Serrin)

Here I am going to say there is no need to be modest. You are crazy about guns after all.

"Then it could be your dad! " (Rudra)

"Yes, you are right.It could be my father. "

(Serrin)

His eyes got teary in hope. He looked like he is going to cry any moment. He is emotional dude of our group.

I expected that but on other hand Neil's expression is damn scary like he want to cry, laugh and kill altogether.

"Yes , your dad or Neil's mom. They are still alive I think. " (Rudra)

"Stop your stupid hypothesis Rudra. We don't know nothing for sure. " I said trying to stop this foolishness. We are in no position to save anyone.

But no one are listening to me now.

"Let's go. We have to check it out. " (Serrin)

They didn't stop even when Anima and I protested heavily. Even Rudra joined them regardless of the fact that his face was pale as sheet moments ago.

The moon has been covered by dark clouds . I can see them fading out of my vision in the dim light. And then the hungry shadows swallowed them mercilessly. I can't see them anymore.

I can't do anything. I can't take Anima with them. I am sorry but I hope they will be safe.  I prayed for their safety.

"Rick let's go back. I am sorry for your friends but going there is death warrant."

"Yes, you are right. Let's go. "
