Chapter 2 - A Hero Discovered

Tonks, who had noticed that Moody had dropped the strange looking wand in his haste to copy the epitaph, bent down to pick it up.

'Who knew Moody was a fanboy?' She thought to herself chuckling inwardly, as she reached for the wand. 'To think he could be normal about something.'

Fingers grasping around the odd-looking wand, she grabbed it before noticing something off about her magic.

Her metamorph magic to be specific.

Feeling it reacting with the magic in the wand, she noticed her control starting to slip over her features, as the wand started to grow brighter.

Eventually losing all control as the wand continued to grow brighter, Tonks slowly transformed back into her natural birth looks.

Meanwhile Moody had finished copying the Epitaph successfully and was happily storing the copy in what seemed to be a secret compartment in his flask. All done with his personal task, he refocused on the task at hand, trying to open these doors to conduct a risk assessment.

Looking over to Tonks, he noticed the wand glowing, with his protégé holding it tightly, looking quite shocked.

He watched, as his protégé slowly lost control over her features, slowly transforming into a very familiar figure to him.

Bellatrix LeStrange nee. Black.

A shocking look to be sure, but not one unexpected, as her mother had been sisters with her.

As the transformation completed, the wand grew brighter, eventually passing on its magic to the strange symbol in the middle of the giant doors.

Tonks and Moody stared in shock, as the symbol glowed and pulsed with magic, before the giant doors slowly creaked open.

Venturing inside, they were shocked to see the chamber inside a lit in a pale blue ethereal glow.

"I can't see with my eye!" commented Moody in shock. This was the first time that his magical eye had been completely obstructed. Sure, there were certain magical materials he couldn't see through, like those vines covering that tunnel from earlier, but never before had an entire room been obstructed.

Meanwhile, Tonks felt herself losing more and more control over her Metamorph magic as she travelled further into the chamber. She felt full in a way, like this blue ethereal glow was somehow filling her magic up. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it was definitely a unique feeling to be sure.

Moody's eye had completely stopped spinning in the meantime, hanging almost limply, off to the side of his socket.

"Whats that there?" Tonks called out in surprise, pointing towards a bright glow in the far depths of the cavern.

Moody glances with his one good eye, before responding. "The ethereal glow of this chamber seems to be originating from there."

"Help me out with this lass!"

Tonks glances back towards Moody, who is staring at some destroyed rubble. Understanding her mentor's intention, she readies her wand.

'Reparo!' They cast in unison, watching as the rubble slowly pieces back together to form... a giant rock platform, tilted downwards like a slide?

"Seems like this residual magic is interfering with normal casting." Her mentor observes. "This is as much as we can repair this structure."

Grinning to herself, she comments in excitement before jumping down. "This is the kinda mission Im talking about! WOOOHOOOOO!"

"WAIT! LASSSS!" Moody yells out in panic.

"That damn girl is gonna have me retiring early from stress." He grunts to himself before jumping down after her.

A short exciting ride down the makeshift slide, the pair soon slid onto the bottom platform, the source of the blue ethereal glow dozens of meters in front of them.

Approaching slowly, they soon got a better look at the source.

It was a glowing blue oval shaped egg, pulsating with wisps of life and magic, housing what looked to be a young man in robes.

"Holy shit, is that a student!?!?" Tonks asks in shock!

Inside of the blue glowing oval shaped egg, was an Asian looking student, wearing a blue and yellow battle robe (Robes of Merlin from the twitch stream), and from the looks of it, still alive, if the steady rise and fall of his chest is any indication.

"Is that Jordan Khan, from the epitaph we just read upstairs?" Tonks wonders aloud.

Moody nods his agreement, before sending off a quick messenger Patronus to Dumbledore and McGonagall.

"We found a hidden chamber underneath the school, where the Battle of Hogwarts - 1891, took place. It seems to be saturated with some unknown magic, rendering spellcasting inefficient at best. In addition, please get Madame Pomfrey and Phoenix Flash down here as soon as possible. We have found a student in a magical induced coma. We believe him to be Jordan Khan, the Hero of Hogwarts."
