Chapter 8 - Emotions

***** A/N - SURPRISE BONUS CHAPTER - Honestly all the support has been overwhelming. My motivation has never been higher, and Im pumping out chapters pretty quick. Making good progress with my stockpile, so hopefully soon we're moving to daily releases! Also, doing some research for some future chapters, I realized i fucked up lol. School in HL started in 1890. Not outright said anywhere, but it is shown on a newspaper in a random cut scene. That means the final battle took place during winter/spring of 1891. I was off by a year! Not bad for guessing LOL. Also, not super important to our current story in 1994, but I will be going back to fix it, just to keep continuity in the timeline. Anyways, onwards to the story! Hope you all enjoy! *******

Thinking back through all his adventures, he didn't recall even rescuing another graphorn, let alone a female one for Lord of the Shore to have a son with. Perhaps Deek or Poppy saved her and brought her here?

'Something else to look into.' He mused to himself.

Glancing back to the giant graphorn, he quickly conjures a brush to pet the underside of his large friend, as he had done so many times in the past.

Feeling the brush start to work its magic on its belly, Lord of the Shore quickly laid down with a loud *BOOOM* to give the brush better access to his underside. His rear legs soon began to kick in happiness.

"It's so good to see you buddy!" Khan exclaims to his old friend sentimentally.

Lord of the shore was the first friend he met, that he had personally known from his past!

Originally rescuing Lord of the Shore to gain access to the 4th keeper trial by San Bakar, they later formed a mutual respect and close bond through combat, both against each other, and together, side by side, destroying goblins and poachers alike.

Vanishing the brush a few minutes later, Khan asks LotS in curiosity.

"Is that your son my boy?" heading up to the large graphorn still lying down on the ground, Khan reached up and began rubbing behind his ears in affection.

Snorting his response, LotS gruffs at his son, motioning to come greet Khan with his large head, still enjoying the ear scratches.

The other large Graphorn lumbers slowly over, slight caution on his face, his body tensing in fear and worry. LotS watches his son move along towards them, before getting off the ground himself.

*BOOOM BOOOM*

The ground shakes, as LotS turns to face his son, before bellowing out his own loud roar.

********RRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*****

With his ears ringing not being able to hear anything, Khan watches as LotS's show of force subdues to other graphorn, his son lying down immediately, showing his belly.

When Khan's hearing returns, he hears the smaller graphorn whining in a placating manner to the dominance displayed by LotS.

LotS gruffs again at his son, and this time his son immediately sheds a few horns, as they drop down from his body.

Picking them up in his mouth, the smaller graphorn heads over timidly to Khan before dropping the horns at his feet, and lying down belly up, in a display of submission.

Conjuring a brush, Khan begins to rub the smaller Graphorns belly, speaking to him in an affectionate manner.

"AWWWW thanks buddy! Underneath that big tough exterior is just a big old softy. Just like your Pops!"

LotS snorts in protest.

"You know its true!" Khan playfully teases LotS as he continues to belly rub the smaller graphorn.

"Well I guess we should come up with a name for ya buddy!" Khan addresses the smaller graphorn, as he vanishes the brush, packing the horns away into his dimensional storage pocket, excitedly thinking about some new enchantments he can try on his gear with these horns.

"Since your pops is named "Lord of the Shore", how about we call you Prince? Do you like that name buddy?"

Roaring his agreement, Prince lumbers over to Khan, before rubbing his giant head against Khan in thanks.

"OOOOOF!" Grunts Khan as he ½ pets, ½ pushes the giant head rubbing up against him.

Off to the side, Silverwing and the 2 house elves have made their way over as well, watching in fondness at the bonding display by Khan and the 2 Graphorns.

Looking around, after successfully placating the excited Prince, he asks the 2 house-elves. "Have you seen Caligo, Highwing and Sepulchria? And what about Sol?"

Normally his friends would've sensed his unique magic and presence, and found him by now, being capable of flight.

When Khan asked this question however, he immediately felt a sense of sadness and gloom from his bond with Yama.

And while Khan felt through his bond, the feelings from Yama, on his other beast friends it was much more pronounced.

Silverwing's plumage immediately darkened, appearing much more like her father Caligo, the all black Hippogriff.

Whereas LotS and Prince started whining and whimpering like very sad puppies.

After a few moments, Teek answered Khan solemnly. "Whitey Wings and Blackie Wings are gone. When He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named came to threaten The Great Khans Sweeties, the grippowings left to protect The Great Khan's Sweeties."

Thunder crackled over the mountain peaks in the background.

Hearing the angry thunder overhead, Teek hurriedly finished "Teek tried to stop Whitey Wings and Blackie Wings from leaving! Teek knew Father and Great Khan would be sad! Bad Teek!"

Eyes flashing Red, Khan turned towards Teek to clarify what he had just heard.

"I'm sorry Teek." While Khan spoke quietly and calmly, his eyes flashed red dangerously, in clear contrast to how he sounded. "Are you telling me that some wanker who 'can't be named' came to ATTACK POPPY?"

Thunder boomed overhead, as Khan practically shouted the end of that last sentence.

Hearing "Sweeties" reminded Khan of when he introduced Poppy to Deek while showing her where Highwing was staying. Needless to say, putting 2 and 2 together, Khan immediately knew who Teek was talking about.

"WHERE IS HE?!?" Khan boomed in anger, while thunder and lightning echoed his mood, high over the mountain-tops.

"HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED IS DEAD GREAT SIRS!" Teek squeaked in fright of Khan's display of anger.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

Channeling all his anger into his ancient magic, Khan releases all his frustrations in the form of a giant thunderbolt impacting the middle of the giant lake, at the bottom of this valley.

***BBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM***

Looking towards the lake, a giant impact crater was left in the middle of the lake, with the water directly impacted having been instantly evaporated by the lightning bolt.

Water quickly filled up the crater however, and soon the lake was peaceful once more, no signs of destruction having taken place other than the fearful look in the eyes of his friends, the house-elves and beasts.

Looking towards the terrified faces, Khan takes a few deep breathes before apologizing, attempting to placate his friends.

After the apology, Khan takes a few moments to pause and get his thoughts under control.

'Should've known there would always be Dark wankers in any age.' Khan grumbled to himself. 'Get rid of Ranrok, Harlow, Rookwood, not to mention all the poachers, and more just pop up in their place.'

'I should look into this 'He-who-has-no-name' or whatever he calls himself. Make sure him and his followers are actually all dead.' Khan was feeling particularly vengeful after hearing the most recent news about his friend.

Using lethal spells, and even the unforgivables at times in the past, Khan was no saint, blood staining his hands since the first day he had attended Hogwarts and killed a troll visiting Hogsmede with Natty. Due to his mindset, having hardened through countless combat and battles, Khan held no thoughts of mercy for those who would take advantage and terrorize others. He would sleep peacefully at night knowing that they did not have another opportunity to do this to others, compared to if he had in fact, let them go. This belief was reinforced when he wiped out the rest of the ashwinders with Natty, and all the various residents ended up thanked them.

Turning back to the house-elves once his thoughts were once more under control, he once again asks them kindly. "What about Sepulchria and Sol?"

Khan immediately feels another sense of loss from his bond with Yama, but this doesn't feel quite as painful?

Turning to Yama, he asks the white Threstral, "Your mom passed away, but not from battle?"

Yama, snorts in reply, pawing at the ground in agreement.

"She passed away from old age?" Khan clarifies further.

Yama heads over to Khan, snorting his agreement once again before snuggling up to Khan and rubbing his head against him. Rapid inhaling and exhaling came from the thestral, in a sound similar to sniffling, if Thestrals could cry.

Comforting his young friend, Khan embraces Yama, both of them mourning the loss of their friend/mother.

They stood like that for several minutes, comforting each other.

Eventually turning back once again to the two house-elves, he asks them kindly. "And Sol?"

"Actually sirs, it is Red and Yellow Birdy's Fire-day!" Zeke answers excitedly. "Zeke filled Red and Yellow Birdy's nest with all Red and Yellow Birdy's favorites!"

Eyes widening in surprise, Khan clarified in equal excitement, a 180 degree difference from his previous mood. "Wait, its Sol's burning day!?!?"
