Heavenly Dragon Pavilion
"Hmmm, no matter how many times I wield this treasured sword, it just gives me unsettling vibes." A young man who looked to be in his early thirties, held a blood red sword in his hands as he let out a long exasperated sigh.
The young man swung the blood red sword in his hand a few more times before he sheathed away the blade.
He then placed the sheathed sword on a nearby bench.
I'll stop training today. Ah, my white robes have become stained with mud. Haiz, if only the alliance had a laundromat. I hate washing my own clothes. The young man thought to himself.
His once white robes were tattered and stained with mud. From the looks of it, the young man was a martial warrior.
Just then, an old man suddenly appeared in front of the young man like a ghost.
Most people would have been afraid if that happened to them, but the young man remained calm as if this had happened a lot of times in the past.
"Hanli! It's good to see you again! How are you?"
"The Heavenly Dragon greets the 8th Heavenly God of Nine Martial Alliance, Senior Blood Emperor Xue. It's good to see you too."
"Bah! What is up with all those titles? I told you to just call me Senior Xue. You're a Heavenly God too. Why lower yourself when we are equals?"
"I'm sorry, but it hasn't been long since I've taken up the position of the 10th Heavenly God. I am not bold enough to skip the formalities with the other nine elder Heavenly Gods. Forgive me if I have offended you."
"Bah! Again with that formal tone of yours. Screw it, you do you. I didn't visit you to nag you in the first place. How does my sword feel? Do you like it?"
"I don't particularly like it nor do I dislike it. The Blood Dragon Fang is a treasured sword of your ancestor, the 14th Blood Demon. I wouldn't dare to use it if I had known this was the real treasured sword that cut down ten thousand martial warriors in a battle."
"The Heavenly Dragon whose sword arts are capable enough to pierce the Heavens doesn't dare wield the treasured sword of the Blood Demon? What a funny joke! If you don't dare to wield it, what were you doing just now? Did you think that no one was watching you practice your Heavenly Dragon Divine Arts using my Blood Dragon Fang?"
The young man named Hanli remained silent.
"Your movements flowed better than clouds when you used Blood Dragon Fang to perform your sword arts. It's as if my ancestor's treasured sword was made just for your sword arts."
The more the elder called Senior Xue complained, the more frustrated he felt within his heart.
In the end, Senior Xue took a deep breath to calm his turbid mind. He then patted Hanli on the shoulder before he walked away.
Hanli saw this and was about to chase after the elder, but it was as if Senior Xue had eyes on his back, the elder waved his hand at Hanli.
It was only then did Hanli stop in his tracks and decided to keep the elder's sword for a while longer.
When night came, Tianxian City became even more lively.
Hanli was meditating in his personal training ground when a shadow suddenly appeared before landing in front of him.
Upon closer look, the shadow appeared to be a person dressed in multiple layers of black cloth. Their gender was unknown.
Hanli didn't feel any malicious intent from the other party so he ignored the person and continued to meditate.
As for the black clothed person, he squinted his eyes at the white robed man for a moment before he knelt down.
Cupping his hands, the black clothed person said, "The Heavenly Martial Alliance Leader invites the Heavenly Dragon to attend a banquet on his behalf!"
Is that all?
"Tele…Telepathy? Y…Yes, Sir. That is all, Sir."
Okay, you may leave now.
Without hesitation, the black clothed person jumped up and disappeared back into the shadows, leaving Hanli to continue meditating alone.
The next day, Hanli opened his eyes before taking a deep breath.
He had unknowingly fallen into deep meditation and ended up meditating the whole night.
As a result, his body had become as stiff as stone. Just moving his fingers made his bones creak and crank nonstop.
Nonetheless, this wasn't a problem for a martial master like himself.
With a flick of his finger, Hanli guided his vigorous qi through every meridian in his body, popping his bones here and there like a disco.
This went on till noon.
By then, Hanli had already loosened his body and was instead refining his muscles following the steps of body refining art called the Heavenly Dragon Divine Body Art.
Following that, Hanli got dressed before he left the Heavenly Dragon Pavillion to go and meet the Heavenly Martial Alliance Leader.
On the way there, Hanli was greeted by all sorts of martial warriors of the alliance.
"Good afternoon, Sir Heavenly Dragon!"
"It's going to be a great day since I met Sir Heavenly Dragon!"
"Going to meet Sir Thunderbolt Sword Devil? Alright, take care, Sir Heavenly Dragon!"
By the time Hanli reached the Heavenly Thunder Pavilion, he was already mentally worn out from having greeted a lot of people.
Haiz, this is why I don't leave my abode often. Socializing takes effort and now my social battery is empty. Hanli sighed in his heart.
Upon entering the building, Hanli was greeted by a pair of young children no older than 12.
The girl was called Namgung Hua while the boy was called Namgung Jian.
The two children were the disciples of Namgung Wi, the current Heavenly Martial Alliance Leader.
"The Heavenly Dragon greets the young Sword and Flower of the Namgung Clan. It's good to see you guys doing well." Hanli bit his tongue to jolt himself awake, before he waved at the two children.
"The Sword of the Namgung Clan, Namgung Jian greets Sir Heavenly Dragon."
"The Flower of the Namgung Clan, Namgung Hua greets Sir Heavenly Dragon."
The two Namgung children stopped in their tracks before they cupped their hands and bowed towards Hanli.
Hanli walked over to pat them on their heads before he started making his way up the spiral staircase.
Although the Namgung children wanted the Heavenly Dragon to stay and play with them, they were still sensible children.
It was clear to them that Hanli was called over by their grandfather, the Thunderbolt Sword Devil, and it was not on Hanli's own will to come see them.
The Namgung children bowed to Hanli's departing figure before the two children headed to the training fields to begin their own daily training.
