June waited for Leo to fall asleep before quietly standing up and walking out of the room. As she walked out of the room, she saw Adaline sitting on the couch smoking with Andrea and Jake. June sat down and talked with her newfound friends. They talked for a few hours before Leo woke up and walked out of the room.
"What are you guys doing out here?" Leo asked in a deep raspy voice.
"Is that what your morning voice sounds like?" Adaline asked in a sweet voice.
Leo sighed, the voice she used was rather odd to him. She was talking in her usual laid-back tone, this one was lighter and airier, as if she was mimicking Christine. He rolled his eyes, walked over, and sat down on the floor next to Jake. Adaline shifted on the couch to sit behind the older man.
"Do you dye your hair?" Adaline asked.
Leo gazed at Jake with weariness, disliking both Adaline's manner of speaking to him and the tone of her voice.
"So, what if he dyes his hair?!" Jake said coldly.
Adaline rolled her eyes and ran her fingers through the older male's hair. Leo tried to move away but the girl only pulled him closer. Each time he attempted to distance himself, she would draw nearer or tug him back towards her. Jake eventually had enough and walked over to say something. But before he could speak, he heard footsteps behind him.
"Leo...?" Christine asked softly, she sounded confused and hurt.
Leo looked up at his girlfriend, she had a hurt look on her face. "Baby I can explain!" He spoke.
As he tried to get up from where he was sitting Adaline pulled him back down.
"Leo stay, you know you like it when I play with your hair." She smirked.
"Actually I-" Leo started before he was cut off.
"I'm gonna go, I'm sorry if I was interrupting something." Christine said softly. Leo opened his mouth to speak as Christine turned around, "I can see I'm not wanted. I'm not blind. It's not hard to see that you don't want me anymore Leo..." She said sadly.
Leo watched as Christine walked away, Leo snapped his head around smacking away Adaline's hands. He gave her a sharp glare before standing up.
"I thought we were friends. Guess I was wrong..." Leo said coldly.
As Leo chased after Christine, June and the others shot Adaline disapproving glances. At the same time, Leo persisted in attempting to speak with Christine.
"Chrissy wait, let me explain!" Leo said as he ran after her.
"I don't want to hear it, Leo. I know what I saw..." She spoke.
Leo grabbed her shoulder and hugged her, "She kept playing with my hair, I kept on trying to move away. Just ask Jake. Or even June or Andrea!" He cried.
She looked at him sadly and sighed, "Look Leo, if it makes you feel any better, I'll believe you. But I don't like Ada…" She said softly.
Leo nodded and hugged her, "I'll stay away from her. I just don't want to lose you…" he said sadly.
Christine looked at him slightly and hugged him back before walking into the room with him following close behind her. For the rest of the night Leo avoided Adaline. She kept looking at him as if she was upset. After a few hours of him avoiding her Adaline tried to pull him away from Christine.
"Leo, can I talk to you?" Adaline asked as she looked at Christine.
Christine glared at her, as Leo looked at her, "Whatever you have to say you can say in front of me." She said coldly.
Adaline rolled her eyes, "Why are you avoiding me, Leo? I thought we were friends..." she said.
"I don't appreciate the fact that your acting innocent after you made me almost break up with my girlfriend!" Leo snarked at her.
Adaline looked at him confused, "I didn't do anything though. Like what did I even do that almost made you break up?"
"You kept playing with my hair and pulling me closer to you when I tried to move away!" Leo yelled.
Adaline rolled her eyes and spoke again, "Last I checked you liked when people played with your hair."
"No, I like when, Chrissy, plays with my hair!" Leo yelled putting emphasis on his girlfriend's name.
Adaline opened her mouth to speak before she was cut off by Christine, "Will you just stop. Oh my God! It's so annoying that you want to have my boyfriend all over you. You're acting like a pick me. Like girl please. He doesn't like you all your doing is making a fool of yourself in front of everyone and being annoying!" She yelled.
Adaline looked at her, she was "hurt" by her words.
"That's sad. Your just jealous because you can't handle the fact that your boyfriend thinks other girls are pretty. I can't believe you'd think I'd try to steal your boyfriend from you. I thought we were becoming friends…" Adaline said as she faked being hurt.
June rolled her eyes; this wasn't the first time Adaline had done something like this. She was always flirting with the guys in their friend group sometimes even June's girlfriend, Lilly Anne, it was honestly annoying.
"Ada will you please stop?" Jake asked.
Adaline looked at Jake confused as Andrea chimed in.
"Honestly, just stop. Leo doesn't like you and he never will. All your doing is pushing him away." She spoke.
Adaline looked at June, almost as if she was asking for help. June looked away from her and started writing in her journal, the same one from earlier. The girls all started fighting as Adaline went on about how they were all jealous that Leo liked her more than them. Chase groaned as the fighting woke him up.
"Will you all just stop?! Like seriously some of us are TRYING to sleep!" He yelled.
Everyone looked at Chase as he spoke.
"Then get this bitch to leave my man alone!" Christine yelled.
"Get her to get over herself! She's just jealous-" Adaline started before Chase cut her off.
"Just stop! It's obvious that you like Leo. He doesn't like you back so just let it go! Like damn!" Chase yelled.
Everyone looked at Chase shocked. He never yelled like that before.
"Chase you good man..?" Jake asked concerned.
"I'm fine the fighting is just getting annoying." He said coldly.
Everyone looked at him worriedly as they all stopped fighting. Little did they know Chase was worried about his family back home. What if they came looking for him? Or worse, they thought he died. He sighed and laid back down staring at the wall.
