Accident

Drops of tears were non-stop streaming down her face as she recalled all the efforts she had been putting on to get the chance of being with someone she loved, someone she desired but all of them crumpled down with just a single sentence.

"I need you to leave" that was what she heard from him, from the man he loved and wanted to be with. The king.

Elizabeth was always getting what she wants but this time around unfortunately she won't.

She runs out of the king's quarter meanwhile she didn't know where she was going.

Her maid was not there with her and she was not looking for a shoulder to cry on but at least someone who could take her home.

She was not in her right mind when she bumped on a maid who was carrying two heavy buckets of water which had to be delivered somewhere around the castle.

The maid was about to curse when all the water spilled from the buckets. Her eyes looked up to meet a refined noble lady who was looking as if she was not on her right mind.

She bit her lips, afraid of the impending outcomes upon her behavior before she uttered the word sorry even though Elizabeth was the one who bumped on her.

How palace rules works. Nobles never get scolded nor required to ask for forgiveness.

"Forgive me. I....I should go" Elizabeth stuttered, trembling when she came to notice the mess she had done. But her acknowledgement was fastly taken away by her thoughts which were still lingering in her head.

She rushly continued on her pace without sparing further glances to the maid stood behind her, dumbfounded. In her head there was only one thought. She had to return home. she couldn't stretch her stay at the castle in fact she was not needed here anymore.

Her eyes were looking direct at the gate where the castle guards were standing. She was coming closer to the gate when abruptly someone a bit far in front of her was gesturing her to do something but she couldn't comprehend what was it.

She heard someone's shout from behind but she couldn't understand what was it until something hard and strong kicked her back.

She rolled forward from it's force as it sent her fly away.

She bumped on the ground, face first where the floor felt so hard and cold. She could feel her knees brushed against the cold-stone floor and they became intolerable sore caused by the effect.

She gathered the courage to stand up but she failed, she didn't feel dizzy but her limb muscles ached and she couldn't move right away. She then tried to roll around to check on her knees and found light bruises on her flesh skin.

"Ouch..." it hurts but a little, Elizabeth winced from the pain she felt from her bruises, her gown skirt had already lifted up and tremendously revealed her two beautiful legs but she couldn't care right away.

What if could there be other people around her, observing ?.

What she couldn't hear at the moment were the hurried footsteps coming closer. Someone was approaching her.

She would feel relieved if it happens someone was nearby, he could help her stand up maybe until now someone might have seen her fall and was coming to help. That was what she cares.

Before she could feel the presence of somebody close to her in a moment she felt two strong hands coming from behind and sooner she was carried up.

Stunned by the abruption, she looked up to meet the eyes of the one who was carrying her.

"Luther....?!".

Why was he there ?!. Was he following her ??.

His strong arms was wrapping around her small figure protectively. She felt like a baby carried in her father's hands.

She felt secured, treasured and loved at the same time but she couldn't understand what happened and how the king was there when suddenly something very hard hit her back.

What was it ?! and why she couldn't hear anything before. And even now she couldn't clearly made out the sounds of people who were shouting behind her.

She struggled against the king's arms in an attempt of wanting to let her down.

She didn't want to speak or maybe she couldn't because of the lump she had on her throat she thought if she speak to him she couldn't hold it anymore she could burst out crying.

She was angry with him, he ought to send her away but now he was carrying her in his arms.

And where was he taking her. To the pharmacy..?.

No..?!. That wasn't the way to the pharmacy. she watched the familiar building came into view.

What.. ??. She was shocked to see the king was carrying her to his quarter.

The door to his bedroom was opened and the king took few steps forward and she was lifted down to the soft mattress which touched her skin. It was his bed.

After that, the king turned away and she saw him uttered something to the servants who were standing closer to him and she witnessed them hurrying to do something that they were ordered to do.

She heard the word physician when an elder man wearing a white coat briskly entered the room.

Her hearing was still a problem but she could hear some of the conversations.

The physician stepped forward and started to carry out his duty he was called for.

He held her wrist and was seemed to measure something and then his hands came to her face to check on her bruises there.

Her face twitched when he gently pressed on her wounds.

She didn't know she got bruises there because she didn't touch her face, seems like they were minor wounds and doesn't sting when the doctor pressed a woolen fabric with the medical potion to her face.

All this time, Elizabeth looked sceptical and unaware of what was going on until she heard the physician.

"She needs a rest for now. Everything is normal. She was shocked by the situation but by the time she will be okay but someone had to tend on her other wounds. I applied the medicine on her face and the other places should be taken care of " the physician couldn't explain further what he meant.

The patient was a woman and he can't cross boundaries to attend on her wounds which might be in places he wasn't allowed to see.

So he let the king grasp the concept and let him decide.

"I understand" the king cleared his throat and ushered the court maids to apply the medicine to the rest of her body.

Before the physician could leave, King Luther came closer to the physician and indulge more information from him.

"Royal physician, you said she is fine are you sure about that ...?" the king noticed that Elizabeth looked haggard and lost her mind as she doesn't speak or understand what's going on around her.

"Yes, your majesty. Apart from her wounds there is nothing wrong about her"

Then why she doesn't talk ?!. Is she feeling so much pain ?...

Maybe she got inner wounds but her fall wasn't that bad to cause so much pain in her body.

The physician exited the room leaving the medicine to the court maids after instructing them on how to apply it to the wounds.

The king thanked the physician before he left but he didn't move a one step closer to the door because he too was required to leave the room so as the maids could attend to lady Richard.

The maids casted the timid glances to the king politely hinting on him to leave.

He understood what they meant but he wasn't ready to let Elizabeth alone for another minute, he knew he was wrong and he was a reason, she got on an accident.

He was looking forward to pay for it, even by staying by her side until she become fine.

But he can't disturb the maids who were willing to do their work.

He slowly stepped back and turned to the door, he took the last glance to the laying Elizabeth on his bed before he left the room.

Stella, Elizabeth's maid almost bumped to the king when she passed through the door and went directly to the bed where her lady was laying.

Stella spoke with the worry on her face, both her hands were shaking when she came to place them on her gaped mouth. "Oh my...Eliza !!. What happened ?!"

Stella was about to loose her mind when she heard her lady got on an accident. She run all the way from the court yard, falling many times before she could stand up again and continued with her running until she arrived at the king's quarter where she was instructed that her lady was carried there.

Elizabeth after seeing her maid that was when she started to cry after restrained herself for so long.

She hugged her maid and sobbed loudly. Stella tremendously wrapped both her hands around her lady's back. She muttered "I'm sorry, that won't happen again...if only I could.. be there, that couldn't have happened to you. I'm really sorry"
