PHOTO SHOOT I

Liam stared at me, "Compared to what I had imagined, it wasn't that bad."

I swirled my spoon through my melting ice cream, "But bad enough for you to skip dinner."

He didn't utter a word but shifted the almost empty bowl of whipped cream and soy sauce aside. "You should get some sleep. We'll be really busy tomorrow. Mirabel wants us to take a proper photo for the public."

I nodded as I watched him stand to his feet with a spoon in my mouth.

His eyes flickered over me before coming back to my face and he walked out of the kitchen.

I was suddenly glad I couldn't sleep earlier as I stared at Liam until he was out of sight. This is the first time since our engagement that Liam and I have actually talked like normal people without arguing or fighting.
