Teleport and the dizziness

In the morning, Lauren opened her eyes with a heavy head and body. She felt as if her body had gained some weight. She looked at the ceiling and gulped. It was rich with relief and painting with golden color, a very beautiful interior design. The room was nothing like hers, but a perfect dark academic-themed room.

Lauren noticed a fireplace and a small bookshelf in the room. It was warm and she was laying on a large-size bed. However, she was confused because she distinctly remembered being in her own room last night.

'Wait a minute,' she thought, trying to recall everything from her memory. Her face contorted with confusion. In a rush, she sat upright on the bed, causing the sheets to rustle softly. Lauren's heart raced as she searched for her phone on the bed, but it was nowhere to be found.

Lauren forgot how she walked out of her room. She forgot, for a full two minutes, how she ever ran through the north hallway for her life. But her errors were temporary; they seemed like natural delays. Lauren experienced only confusion as her mind buffered, and hesitation as the memories resurfaced, waterlogged and vague.

"You wake up?" She heard a voice near her and turned to look at Elliott. How could she forget him? He was the man she remembered the most at the moment.

It would be a lie if the thought of him being a monster hadn't passed through her mind, but that would be stupid of her to think about a man who was so handsome and perfect that there was no sense in thinking that. Furthermore, he was a vampire, not a monster but weren't they both the same? She gulped in confusion and her tongue peeked out to wet her lips, which had turned dry.

Lauren shivered, suddenly, at the unexpected sensation of a warm. "Hey," he said, "are you all right?"

"What? How?" She frowned and looked carefully at him, observing him but there was nothing for her because he was as blank as white paper.

Lauren felt it — stiffened against the nausea that preceded a vision, the sudden punch to the gut that meant there's more, there's more, there's always more.

She noticed his hair was undone and not in good condition; otherwise, he looked perfect with his midnight face. Lauren thought may be he just woke up and didn't freshen up yet. But was it a good time to observe his features when she might be sitting with a monster?

"I...I saw a monster last night. He was down there, and..." she trailed off, her eyes widening in fear.

"Calm down and please lay down on the bed," he said calmly, but the tone was demanding, which made Lauren do what he said. However, she didn't know why, but it seemed like she trusted him and immediately followed his order.

Lauren thought, what if no one listened to her for a moment? What if everyone starts making jokes about her? What if they really said that it was just her phantasm? But she saw it with her own eyes, and it chased her too. Not once but twice, and they were totally different creatures.

Elliott pushed his hair and rubbed his neck as he said. "I saw it... I was on the ground floor at the same time." This made every hair in her body stand up at his words. He was there, and he saw it too. Lauren was somehow relieved.

She saw him, he bought his hands near the side table where she saw a towel and a bowl with a jug of water. "Drink this," Elliott whispered. Lauren noticed how deep his voice was. It felt like she was a sponge that soaked up every single word that escaped through his lips.

He passed a glass of water to her, and she took it from his hand. Lauren's breathing was fast, and she looked at him very carefully. She was also a little scared of him.

She took the glass and drank it in one go. She felt herself calming down slowly and looked at him, except for some explanation about the incident. What happened last night after she fainted, and how did he get rid of it?

"You..." she pointed at the bowl and said, "You don't have to... I." He interpreted her, putting his finger on his lips and saying 'Shhh'

"How are you feeling right now? You have a high fever last night. I was worried." He didn't say the last sentence out loud but in his mind.

"I will be alright if you answer my questions honestly." Elliott blinked. She continued, "What happened last night?"

"I found you last night on the ground floor. You were running towards the stairs and crying. I don't know what happened or why you were running towards the stairs at that speed. But when I was close enough to you, I felt you were not well. You looked scared, and I tried to make you calm down, but then you fainted. I got worried for you and took you to my room."

Lauren sat up completely this time and yelled at him. "Geez! What are you hiding from me? I need answers this time." He sighed, she surely haven't listened to what he said about being worried.

Lauren looked at him with an angry frown. There was no way that he hadn't seen the blood that was all over the hallway floor and the smell. She threw the blanket away and stood on the floor without slippers.

"Are you lying?" She demanded. Elliott just stared up at her but didn't say anything. He was expecting this type of reaction from her.

"This is your phone. I took care of you; now you can go back to your room. I need some rest."

"I saw pictures of you in the north hallway, and I know that hallway was connected to another building."

Elliott's eyes widened slightly as his hand stopped in the mid; a little stunned. He held her slippers and put them in front of her so she could wear them. He knew the floor was so cold for her.

"Wear them. Otherwise, you will get cold soon." He spoke in a calm tone, but she wasn't hearing him and ignored him.

"I need to go somewhere!" She snapped. Her eyes looked at him, moving softly as they jumped from one eye of his to another.

"Where?" he asked, confused.

"Outside of the dorm."

"Why?" Elliott raised his brows at her as he questioned.

"To clear something." He nodded his head and passed the coat to her.

"You can wear this." With a single glare, she held it from him. It was a little longer for her but she have no choice but to wear it. Once she was done, he offered his hand for Lauren to take.

"What do you mean?" she questioned.

"You will see in a minute," he said, giving her that crooked smile that made her feel queasy. Lauren placed her hand on his, waiting for him to say something or walk so that they could step out of the room, out of the dorm but all he did was stood there, looking at her down. Did he want to say something to her? She was about to ask when "Hold my hand tight. " Huh?

The next second, Lauren didn't know what happened, but she felt the rushing sound of air in her ears and realised they weren't in the room anymore but outside of the dorm. What just happened?

Lauren was in shock. She was trying to process what just happened after noticing that they weren't in the room anymore but outside of the dorm, as she requested about. How...What just happened? Unable to process and come up with the right explanation, she looked at Elliott, her brown eyes brighter than any time before.

"How did we come here?" she asked, even though the back of her mind had started to place things together that made no sense to her.

"Teleporting is one of my abilities. To go through space without any interface, I can go and come whenever I choose, instantaneously." Elliott praised himself as to her inquiry.

When she took one step forward, she felt dizzy. "Be careful," he cautioned, holding her arm so she wouldn't fall due to the swaying of her body. "While teleportation may seem like it is simply for travel, it can be a valuable ability. You are feeling dizzy because it's your first time."

"...." She blinked, as she didn't know what to make of it. His breath was on her side face and she didn't know how to speak.

"Now back to the point. Why are we here?" Elliot let go of her and questioned, looking at her and waiting for her to answer him. It was clear that Lauren was preoccupied with the flood of information she had received, leaving her unable to immediately answer Elliott's question.

Instead of answering him, she walked while Elliott followed too. Lauren stopped about 10 steps away from where she was standing before. She could feel Elliott standing behind her. She didn't mind his presence; instead, she wanted him at the moment.

Many questions bubbled in her mind, but none came to pass through her lips. Taking a deep breath, she turned around. She looked up at the sight — a giant building was standing in front of her.
