Two friends, Ravi and Vineet, had established a routine of going for bike rides together. It was a mutual agreement, although neither of them truly understood why they ventured out at night. Perhaps both of them were single, leading them to humorously ask each other, "Where's your partner?" Or maybe certain circumstances prevented them from exploring other places, as they were both striving to improve their individual situations. Whatever the reason, their friendship had developed, likely due to shared similarities and the camaraderie formed through shared struggles.
When Ravi and Vineet first crossed paths, however, their initial impressions of each other were far from favorable. Ravi thought to himself, "What an arrogant guy," while Vineet had similar thoughts, muttering, "What an overly confident jerk." They both agreed silently that it would be best to keep their distance from one another.
But life has a funny way of proving us wrong.
Now, looking back at how things have unfolded, they find themselves missing each other, curious about what the other person is up to.
On this particular night, the darkness enveloped them, accompanied by a chill in the air. The moon, visible amidst the clear sky, cast its gentle glow, bathing the surroundings in a yellowish-white hue. The bike's headlight illuminated the road as Ravi rode, with Vineet sitting comfortably behind him.
Ravi spoke, and Vineet listened attentively. But when Vineet shared his thoughts, laughter filled the air.
At a bakery, Ravi exuded a contagious joy, fully embracing the wonders of life. However, Vineet warned him jokingly, "Calm down or else I'll be banned from this bakery."
Ravi playfully retorted, "Don't think I'm oblivious to why we come here. Isn't it because of the owner?"
He nudged Vineet in the stomach, and Vineet responded with a witty comeback, "Indeed, it's a treat for our taste buds and our eyes."
Their banter continued, a testament to their bond and the comfort they found in each other's company.
One night, as they rode under the moon's watchful gaze, Vineet broke the silence with a thought-provoking question, "Hey, what do you think about the moon?"
Ravi pondered for a moment before responding, "The moon? It always exudes such serenity. It can be radiant, making us feel like it encompasses everything."
Intrigued, Ravi asked, "What about it?"
Vineet shared his perspective, saying, "I believe the moon holds symbolic meaning in everyone's life."
Curious, Ravi probed further, "Can you provide an example?"
Vineet explained, "Consider the moon's different phases—the half-moon, crescent, and no moon phases. For me, they symbolize human growth. Some people remain stagnant throughout their lives, empty like the empty moon. Others experience cycles of growth, just as the moon goes through its various phases. What are your thoughts on this?"
Ravi contemplated the idea before responding, "I understand your viewpoint, but I see the moon as a representation of love. It embodies the love we have for others. Sometimes it shines in its full glory, sometimes it wanes to a half, and occasionally it disappears altogether, just like the changing phases of the moon."
Vineet was taken aback by Ravi's profound perspective and exclaimed, "Wow! That's a profound interpretation. I had never considered it from that angle."
Vineet shook his head, realizing that life was a continuous journey of growth and change. As they continued their ride, he understood that he would eventually move on from this phase of his life.

Author's Note: I've always believed that people cross our paths for a reason. Some teach us valuable lessons, while others show us how to navigate life's challenges. Ravi falls into the latter category.
