One who will become Sage II

With trembling feet and a heart pounding in my chest, I summoned every ounce of courage to confront the shadowy figure before me.

"Who... what are you?" I managed to choke out, my voice quivering with a mix of fear and anticipation.

The shadow's malevolent smile widened, casting an ominous aura that sent shivers down my spine. Its voice, dripping with darkness, echoed through the cavern, "I am known by many names—Asura, Rakshas, Devil, Demon, Shaitaan, Satan... The embodiment of your deepest fears."

A frigid chill cut through the air, intensifying the growing sense of unease within me.

Summoning my last reserves of courage, I pressed on, "Why have you revealed yourself to me? What do you want?"

The shadow's eyes gleamed with a sinister gleam as it replied, its voice a haunting whisper, "Your soul is of no interest to me. It is your spirit, lost and adrift, that intrigues me. I seek to test your worth."

The weight of the moment bore down on me, my breath catching in my throat. The devil's presence seemed to consume the very air around us, suffocating me with its dark power.

With a mixture of trepidation and determination, I met the devil's gaze and declared, "I refuse to be consumed by darkness. I will find my purpose, my reason to live."

A predatory smile twisted across the devil's face, its eyes glowing with a sinister delight. "Very well," it hissed, "In three days' time, a caravan of lost souls will pass through this forsaken realm. It is within their midst that you shall find the key to your destiny."

As the devil began to fade into the shadows, a surge of urgency gripped me. "Wait!" I called out, my voice echoing through the cavern. "Why are you called the devil? Are you not the embodiment of evil?"

The devil turned its ethereal gaze upon me, its fading form radiating a dark intensity. "Good and evil are merely constructs of mortal perception," it murmured, its voice carrying a haunting wisdom. "In the realm of shadows, I am but a catalyst for self-discovery, the mirror that reflects your true nature. "

And with those enigmatic words, the devil disappeared, leaving me alone in the darkness, my mind ablaze with questions and a newfound determination.

From that fateful encounter, I would emerge as the Chosen One, braving the treacherous path ahead to unlock the mysteries of my existence and defy the darkness that sought to claim my soul.
