Vajra woke to the sounds of the snowplows and to the ache in his shoulder that said neither he nor she had moved at all in the intervening hours. The good thing was that he hadn’t had that dream again, the bad thing was that he needed to use the bathroom and she was probably going to wake up when he moved away. He craned his neck down to look at her. She was profoundly asleep, all the lines and tension smoothed away from her face. Maybe he could get away without waking her if he was careful.
