Ardala went back the next day and the next, pouring herself into the sphere, bringing the life back to the High Court. There were some too far gone to be saved, they were mourned, and their pyres were given the highest honors. Slowly the lights came back on and Ardala started getting news from the temple of healing. Vajra had survived the first night, then the first week, then the first month. His body was healing and so was his mind where Chaos had tried to tear it open.
Day after day Ardala went to the sphere to pour magic out over the High Court, or to the garden to pull moonflower vines out of the earth and provide for the healers to help with the chaos poisoning that most of the court had. She kept her mind and body busy, stretched, and tired because if she was exhausted then she could sleep and not lay awake worrying for him and wondering when he would be well enough that she could echo his confession.
