Chapter 67

“Just rest, Carina.” Ishaan sat up and brought his hands forward. “I’ll have some food brought and help you eat so you can stay laying down and get better.” He whispered his need, asking for things that would be easy to eat lying down and for some of that lemon drink before he released the orb to zip away. He looked down at Carina whose eyes were shut and she was breathing in a steady rhythm. If it hadn’t been for the pinched lines at the center of her forehead he’d have almost thought she was asleep.

He laid back down and took her back into his arms, she was still shaking, but it was more of a tremor like she was cold than in abject terror. He curled around her, just making certain that she knew he was there, that he was devoted to her and to her happiness, and that he would do pretty much anything for her.
