Chapter 11

The sand was warm, and the breeze was cool and the waves were mesmerizing and she must have fallen asleep because when she woke up there was a strange man standing over her with a look of concern on his remarkably handsome face. “Are you well?”

Siana squeaked and scrabbled backwards in the sand until she was away enough from him that she felt like she could breathe. Her mind told him that he had a lovely voice with a broad, soft accent that she couldn’t place. Her heart was going a million miles an hour and her throat was dry enough from the surprise that she couldn’t get any words out for a couple of minutes.

“Sorry, I didn’t-“ She forced her mouth to produce words. “I’m fine, yep, don’t need to worry about me.” She popped to her feet and almost fell as a huge wave of dizziness hit her. “Ugh-“
