“It would not be my task.” Naerin kept his back straight and met Gladys’ eyes. “My task is to protect the borders, not to shield the circles.”


“Your duty has been extended.” Urien said, also shedding his mundane form in favor of his high fae visage. “You will act as her protector until Pryderin arrives.”


“Very well.” Naerin held out his hand for the vial. “Do I awaken her on your orders, Elders?”


“Go, keep her calm, maybe try making a friend.” Gladys said, waving him towards the bedroom. “Remember you’re already on your second chance.”
