Chapter 30

She drifted, trying to put bits and pieces together and coming up with an image so surreal that it absolutely could not be the real answer. But those notes were singing to her, maybe they would answer her. But she wasn’t supposed to reach.

Siana opened her eyes and glared at the mound of sand in front of her. She wasn’t supposed to reach, but no one would tell her why. So, what was stopping her from doing precisely that. Maybe she could get answers from the bright lights and the notes and the feelings that no one seemed to be willing to give her. Siana let herself flow out, just a tiny thread of her awareness, reaching for the closest light. It was a soft green and sang to her quietly. She wasn’t going to touch it, just get inside its orbit and see if she could see if there were answers to her questions.
