Chapter 65

Naerin pulled his hand back and looked down at Siana. She was pale, there was no color under her skin and that worried him enormously. She was going to sleep for at least a day, and in that time, he could cook something warm and restorative for her and check to be sure that the cafe was shut down properly. He needed his pot anyway, especially if he was going to cook for her so that she would recover. He tucked her in, smoothing the strands of hair back from her forehead and headed back into town.

The cafe was deluged with the pack, Jake and Jon leading the charge and eating what was left of the stew before they handed him the pot and waving him off. “We’ll handle the cleanup, go back to watching over her.” Jake said with a smile. “I hear you’re serving as her warder. Good man.”

“Thank you, I will go back to her.” Naerin turned and went back the way he’d come, back to the cabin on the beach, back to Siana.
