Chapter 71

When Naerin turned around to check on her she was soundly asleep. He’d half thought that she would be, Pryderin was pushing her harder than he really ought to. Harder than he’d been pushed when he’d taken over as guardian of the wards. He knew it made sense, Siana needed strength and steadiness to carry the circles and stubbornness to ensure that they did not attempt to consume her. She had the stubbornness down, but the strength would take time. Hopefully not too much time. The court was doing an admirable job holding the Devourer back and they would continue to bind it for as long as needed. They were also mortal and would tire eventually. Naerin went back to cooking. He’d wake her to eat and then tuck her back up so she could rest. Until food was ready, he’d just let her sleep.
