Chapter 69

Rana let Siana’s hand go to wrap herself around the trunk as much as the girth of the wood allowed. “Isn’t he magnificent? He’s the oldest tree around for hundreds of miles and he’s very wise.”

“Ok,” Siana looked at the tree. It was very clearly ancient, knotted and gnarled with thick branches that nearly rested on the forest floor in some cases. The trunk was scarred in one area making Siana wonder if it had been struck by lightning at one point or another. It was a beautiful tree and the air around it felt alive in a way that Siana had never experienced. She looked over at Rana who had her head pressed against the trunk like she was listening to something that the tree was saying.

The Dryad eventually lifted her head and smiled at Siana. “He would like to talk to you if you don’t mind. Just come over here and put your hands on him. He has something to say that might make you feel better.”
