Awake

Smacking my head against something metalic, I was suddently aware of something being wrong..

I couldnt move, I couldn't see anything but darkness. Feeling my arms tied behind my back, so tight I could feel something hot and stick and knew it was blood. Wet cloth bit into my cheeks, threatening to suffacate any sounds made but the most noticeable self evaluation was that my head felt like it was going to explode, I could even taste blood on the cloth in my mouth. I distinctly felt that i was on my side.. "did i fall over?" I thought. I know not the best first thought but.. I was groggy.

I heard chains and soft noises that made me aware that I wasn't alone. I froze and listen..

crying?.. soft whimpers could be heard all around me. I didn't just hear soft crying but I was hearing other things too. The sound of the vehicle I was in. I could smell the diesel. realization hit me, I was in the back of someone's truck.. and I wasn't alone.

The sound of trucks rolling over pot holes in the road, sounds of metal groaning. The sound of soft crying of other women became the only rooted sound for hours or possibly days.

When the truck finally stopped the cries stopped, it was quiet. We heard talking from outside and then all hell broke loose, the back doors creaked open sounding like they were being ripped off their rusty hinges.

"You grab that one!" Boomed a man's voice.

"Here take this one" I heard a girl start to cry as she was passed to another person.

They were shoving us through mud and I was taken back by it squishing between my toes, noting that I was missing a shoe.

We were filling out of the van like cattle to God knows where, all I could do was go where I was being shoved, all I could do was listen, and wait.
