The Nineteenth Wife of the Vampire King

"Human food is unpalatable for vampires," Caius looked down at the little girl and said. "Vampires can eat them, but they taste really, really bad." He gently patted Venera's little head.


Venera looked up, tilted her head, and asked, "Just like how blood tastes for humans?"


"Yes, just like how blood tastes for humans," Caius replied with a smile.


"Then, what do vampires eat?" Venera asked curiously.


Her only knowledge of vampires comes from TV shows, movies, cartoons, anime, etc. The vampires featured only drink blood. But seeing Caius eating the red grape-like fruit with relish beside her means that vampires can consume other things other than blood… Or do they not drink blood at all?


Venera is confused by her own thoughts. Many ideas were circling around her little head, and she did not know which were true or not. The only way to know the precise truth was from the mouth of a vampire.
