Venomous Shade of Black

Venera looked unblinkingly at his figure, full of awe and excitement. She was not the least bit terrified of Caius; there was a voice inside her that told her that Caius would never hurt her, at least not intentionally, so there was never a need for her to be afraid of him. Never him.

Never him.

She did not even know why she was so sure of this conjecture.

Then Venera heard a snap. The room returned to normal.

Everything was almost like an illusion, a dream, but the fact that Venera's eyes hurt a little bit, making her eyes tear, showed that everything was real and none of it was the product of her imagination.

She squinted her eyes slightly at the sudden brightening of the lights, and repeatedly blinked to help adjust her vision back to normal.
