You Are Mine

"Where is your family?" Venera was just asking casually, wanting him to go back home to wash off the dirt on his face and change into clean clothes.

However, Venera heard the man say, "I do not have a family." He said this sentence in a very flat tone, with no emotions nor any hint of fluctuations in his voice. He also had an expressionless face, one that showed that even if he had a family, he would not care one bit about them.

Venera immediately imagined the man as an orphan from birth who grew up in the castle and suffered ridicule and bullying for many, many years.

So pitiful.

"You are so pitiful," Venera could not help but say, frowning and sighing. She once again stretched out her hand, but now gently patted the man's dirty hair through her satin gloves. His pink locks were easy to brush.
