First Flight

And thus, Caius wanted to let Venera familiarize herself with the environment outside the castle.

"Okay," Venera jumped off the high chair and strode over to Caius. "Where shall we go and play?" She tilted her head a little to the right. "The north of the castle grounds?" She guessed.

"No," Caius said, carrying the little girl into his arms. "We are going outside the castle today."

"Outside the castle?" Venera echoed his words with a bright light in her eyes. "Let's go, let's go!"

"Hmm," Caius hummed, and a pair of bat-like wings appeared behind him as he walked out onto the open balcony. It was the color between gray and black.

This pair of nearly black wings had a sense of nobility that made Venera want to touch them and wonder what they felt like against her skin.
