Lava Lake

The deeper Caius went into the depths of the cave, the higher the temperature he felt from the surroundings, and the darker his surroundings were. He even felt a strong sulfur smell drift from the air into his nose.

If he had guessed right from when he entered the cave, then this cave must have been connected to a volcano—an active volcano, to be precise. He did not know how long he had walked—maybe a few hours or so—but he finally walked into a dead end.

There was a large, boiling lava lake below his feet. The dark red and golden magma splashed high under the large pressure from deep inside the crater.

The interior of this volcano is almost hollow. It was like a large shaft that expanded downward. The rock wall is pitch-black, indicating that it has been burned by the high temperatures all year round, and there are already signs of vitrification.

Then, without thinking much, Caius jumped down.
