"Let's see how well the military school treats its students," Brandon was already in the cafeteria taking portions of all kinds of food. There was food that was only exclusive to dimensions.
Such delicacies made Brandon salivate just by looking at them. He took so much that people around him were staring at him. Ignoring their looks, he looked for the nearest and secluded table.
"Can we sit here?" Two people approached the table and sat down without even waiting for him to answer their questions. They were Dereck and Jin Na. Brandon only looked at them for a few seconds before continuing to eat in silence.
Five more people arrived and sat at the table. "Are these your friends, Brandon?" asked Thomas.
"No, I've barely seen them," he replied briefly, trying to eat without being bothered.
"Come on, we've tried to be your friends, and you're still acting like this," this time, Brandon was a little surprised. It was Jin Na, the quietest person after him, who spoke.
Sigh "That's my question. You know nothing about me, and you come up as if nothing and want to be my friend. What do you have up your sleeves?"
Thomas and the others listened to the conversation between Brandon and the other two people. They would also find it strange if two people approached them like that.
They couldn't call themselves Brandon's friends, but they were his roommates, so eventually, friendship would come.
Before they could continue talking, four other people approached the table. They were three men and a woman with Asian features. "Our lady here likes this table, go find another one." The man put his hand on the table as he waited for the table to be cleared.
Everyone began to get up, which surprised Brandon, but he didn't pay much attention. He had been intimidated before, but he was no longer shy and had a good fighting foundation, although a bit rusty.
"Are you deaf?" the man said as he looked at Brandon a little angrily for his attitude.
Thomas stepped forward to try to help. "Brandon, let's go. There are other places where we can sit."
Brandon continued to eat slowly, ignoring what these people were saying, so one of the men approached him while rolling up his sleeves. "Hum, a scum trying to be difficult, let Lao-Tse teach you."
Before the man could do anything, Brandon moved his palm towards him, telling him to stop. "I had heard that you people from your continent have a very arrogant attitude. I've read enough novels, and your attitude disgusts me. I thought it only happened in novels, and I see I was totally wrong. Your attitude damages the image of those who are not like you and have to be judged by your stupid attitude. Can you speak more normally? Where does your superiority come from? I don't know who Lao-whatever you're talking about is, you're interrupting my meal, leave."
The four people were stunned, even Jin Na, who had never heard someone insult their culture like that.
The man who had spoken before couldn't bear the anger and punched Brandon with his left fist. Covering his face with both arms in an X shape, Brandon took the blow that made his body fly from the seat and crash into another table.
'Ah, I didn't think I'd make enemies so quickly. It's only my second day, and I'm already in trouble. What the hell is wrong with my luck?' that was the thought he had as he leaned his hand on the floor and got up.
While he was being hit, he could see that the attacker's wrist strength index was 35, meaning he had an advantage of 33 points which gave him an edge in the battle. That is, if it were against a single person.
The subject walked towards Brandon with the other two following him from behind.
As a fireball formed in his left hand, he looked at the girl who was watching from a distance with an indifferent gaze.
The subject expelled the fireball at such a rapid speed that Brandon instinctively directed his energy to his eyes.
He tried to control the amount of power he sent to his eyes so as not to faint, causing the details of his surroundings to appear less clear. But he was able to notice a point within the flame, something he wouldn't be able to see with normal eyes.
He didn't have to think much to understand that it was the core of the flame. He needed to move his body and intercept it to verify his theory, but his body's reaction didn't match that of his eyes.
He used more energy, but instead of sending it to his eyes, he sent it to his brain. If he wanted to react faster, he would have to increase the speed of his thinking and body control.
As if his body understood, the "Cold Mind" ability did not take effect this time since it was a passive ability.
His brain started thinking faster, so fast that it seemed like a processor controlling and analyzing a large number of thoughts.
Moving his body forward, he focused more power on the tip of his right arm's index finger and touched the flame, feeling its heat but soon stopped feeling it when his finger touched the core, causing it to destabilize.
The flame disappeared, leaving everyone, including the girl who had stayed in the back, with their mouths open. Still, Brandon didn't come out completely unscathed. He had first-degree external burns on his hand because he had to pass through a part of the flame to touch the core.
Taking advantage of the attackers' confusion, Brandon didn't waste time and focused his energy again on his eyes. He lunged at the subject who had attacked him before, feinting and attacking from below towards the chin.
By the time the attacker realized what was happening, it was too late. A punch hit his chin, causing him to fly backwards while feeling that his energy was out of control. This caused him to vomit blood when he fell.
Another attacker lunged without any skill towards Brandon. One of the subjects tried to hit Brandon's head with a kick, but failed.
With his energy being drained, Brandon could see the attackers approaching, so when he saw the kick, he ducked and while doing so, swept one of his legs making the person who had attacked him fall backwards.
Deactivating his ability, Brandon looked towards the other two people while sweating from the amount of energy he had spent. He had barely 35 energy points left.
Everyone in the cafeteria who was watching the fight had their mouths open. One person had taken care of two others so easily.
Seven people stood next to Brandon, these were Thomas and his colleagues along with Dereck and Jin Na. Although they were stunned by the fight, they soon decided to join in.
Although they hadn't helped from the beginning, he didn't mind since they weren't friends and they didn't have to make an enemy.
The Asian girl looked at Brandon with interest, but when the other people approached, she could only stay still. She made a sign and the remaining guy approached to help the others stand up and at the same time, withdrew.
Watching the attackers leave, all they could do was sigh. They didn't mind spending the remaining of their energy to keep fighting, even if it meant passing out.
They weren't surprised that the school ignored the incident, only acting if a life was in danger.
"Thanks," was all they said as they left to take a nap in their room.
"Be careful, after offending the Chens, I doubt your life will be peaceful from now on." They watched Dereck leave with Jin Na.
"So They're part of one of the 5 families, this is gonna be problematic," they thought.
If you looked closely, you could see his fist trembling a bit from the previous fight. He let out a small smile and thought, "So this is the adrenaline you feel when fighting, I like it."
