"All set, you can move your foot again," said the nurse.
Brandon had been taken to the infirmary after the battle. His foot was the only thing they could find injured, so they took him to a dwarf with healing abilities to treat his wound.
Brandon moved his foot and everything was normal. He didn't feel any discomfort or external energy influencing his own.
"Thank you so much," he expressed.
"Don't mention it. If you hadn't stopped those beasts, a greater disaster could have happened," replied a man who had just arrived in the room.
This was another dwarf, but he was wearing military clothing and some insignias. "I am General Trall. How should I address our benefactor?"
Brandon was a little uncomfortable with all the formalities. After all, this wasn't his thing. "You can call me Red Devil. After all, that's the name they gave me in the dimensions."
"Good, good. A great name for someone of your caliber," said the soldier with a big smile.
"We know you plan to visit another planet and your trip has been delayed. If you don't mind, you could join me. My platoon will pass near Earth, so it's no inconvenience to give you a ride."
"If it's not a bother, I would love to join you," he expressed his sincerity. He thought it would take longer and he would have to wait for another cruise that he didn't know when it would depart.
"Don't be so humble. You're at home here. By the way, this is your reward," said Trall, handing him a bag.
Brandon had seen the bag, but he didn't know what it was. He thought it was just some of the general's belongings.
He took the bag and found 10,000 Star Coins and 20 level 2 cores inside. "Isn't this...?" Before he could finish, the general interrupted him and said.
"I know it's not much for hunters of your caliber, but we had to pay the other hunters equally. But inside, you can find a green card. With that card, you can enter our planet as a VIP."
Brandon wanted to say that what they had given him was too much, but he decided to keep it. "Thank you so much. When can we depart?"
"Our ship is ready. We were just waiting for confirmation if you were coming with us or not," replied Trall.
Brandon just nodded and started following the general. They soon arrived at a spaceship the size of a 5-story house. It was small compared to those used to carry many passengers or even wars.
The main races had mother ships the size of a small planet.
Brandon stored the 20 cores, making a total of 20 level 2 (Basic) cores and 5 medium level 1 cores.
*** One week later, on the outskirts of planet Earth ***
The journey had been long since the dwarf galaxy was quite far from the galaxy where humans reside, and they had to go through several protocols of that galaxy's alliance.
"Alright, that's the end of our journey. I hope we can see each other again and next time, enjoy a beer together," he extended his hand towards Brandon with a respectful smile.
Brandon smiled back and shook the general's hand before walking towards a capsule and closing the door.
The capsule shot out of the ship and headed towards Earth, crossing the atmosphere. A few minutes later, it landed on a space station.
Brandon was greeted by a group of people. They were the space authority of Earth.
Upon exiting the capsule, he wasted no time explaining everything to them and was soon let go. The dwarfs could retrieve their capsule later, so he left it with the space department.
Leaving the space station, he searched for a public restroom where he could take off his mask. "Free at last," although he liked using his mask, he felt tied down in some way.
Afterward, he looked for a public communicator and paid the fee to use it.
"Hello?" A female voice could be heard.
"Mother, I'm back," he replied, activating his avatar so he could be seen.
His mother also activated hers. "Son, I was looking forward to seeing you again. Why did you come back so soon?... Nevermind, I'm back home, come back soon, there are some people I'd like to introduce you to."
"A lot has happened, but I'll tell you at home. I'll see you there, mother," he said goodbye and left the communicator.
He looked at the bracelet on his wrist. Being on Earth gave him a bad feeling when he saw this.
He decided to call a taxi and pay to be taken to his mother's house.
The trip wouldn't take long since the space station he landed on was in the capital of the Steam continent, where he lived.
Soon, the taxi arrived and he gave directions. "To Santo Domingo city."
He paid and lay down in the vehicle while taking a small nap.
"Son, I hope you live your own adventures and don't let this old man influence you. Try to be whatever you want, nobody has to judge you for that," said his father.
"I want to be like you, dad. I want to hunt monsters and become stronger and stronger," Brandon replied.
The man hit Brandon on the head and said, "Idiot, didn't you hear what I said? Don't try to be like your old man, be better."
"I'll be a better old man then," he said, laughing and starting to run.
...
"Sir, we've arrived."
Coming out of his dream, Brandon looked inside the taxi and then outside where he could see a house.
He opened the door and got out with a slight headache after sleeping a bit. He didn't know where this headache came from, as he was a superhuman, so he shouldn't feel any discomfort.
Standing in front of the house, he rang the doorbell and waited a while. It was already late afternoon, and the sun was setting when he arrived at the house.
Soon, a girl of about 13 years old opened the door and almost screamed as she ran and hugged Brandon.
"Brother!"
Brandon lifted her by the hips and hugged her. "You've grown so much, Silvia. How was your trip?"
With her sparkling eyes, she replied, "There's so much to tell you, brother. Let's go in and see mother. I'll tell you all about everything I visited. It was a very exciting trip."
A woman came out before he entered and hugged him equally. "Son, I missed you so much." Some tears could be seen on her face. Brandon felt very motivated and also cried, although he always seemed cold and distant, there were people who could bring out the warmest in him.
"I missed you too, mother, I missed everyone," he said.
Entering the house, the mother prepared some coffee, as this was her son's favorite drink. Meanwhile, Brandon was with Silvia at the table listening to his sister's stories.
"I saw a giant tiger and also a dragon sleeping on a mountain in the distance," she said.
Brandon listened with enthusiasm. These were beasts that had mutated or entered through the breaking of a dungeon, but they were in controlled perimeters and were almost an attraction.
His mother came with a cup that she placed on the table in front of Brandon with some coffee. Everyone was very happy and cheerful as they talked when suddenly the door of the house opened.
"Oh, what a touching family reunion," said a blond boy.
Brandon glanced at him and then turned to his mother, who had a serious expression when she said, "These are the people I wanted to introduce you to, son.
They belong to one of the 5 families, the Moon family."
