Chapter 40 - Friend

**BOOM**

A thick dust covered half of the shelter, causing most people to stop to avoid colliding with others.

"What happened?"

"Is it an attack?"

"Who would dare attack the Dragon's shelter?"

The guards moved to control the crowds. Today, there were many races in motion and even others arriving from other shelters to start an event.

But something happened that paralyzed everything.

A giant mace had plummeted, but it did not touch the ground because two arms were holding it.

As Brandon stopped and raised both arms, he mentally prepared for the impact, but the pressure he felt was too great.

His body sank halfway into the ground while he held the mace and his arms were stuck inside the mace.

Gritting his teeth, Brandon withdrew his right arm and brought it to his neck where the storage was. He took out one of the swords he had bought and swung it towards the mace.

**Swoosh**

The mace split in two, with one part remaining in the giant's hand and the other part falling to the ground.

**CRACK**

Brandon's sword shattered under the pressure.

**Steps**

Brandon began to be surrounded from many sides by the Dragon guards. His body was still naked, only this time dirty with dust and blood. But it wasn't his blood.

It was green blood that he couldn't clean when he flew out of control.

"Don't resist, kid, or it'll be worse for you. Will you be in enmity with the Dragon race?"

Brandon roared, "Do you know who I am?!"

The pressure that Brandon released made all the guards alert and aim their weapons.

"Who, who are you?" replied one of the guards. This human boy had demonstrated incredible power, surely belonging to the human elites.

Brandon sighed.

"Lucky you don't know who I am, you won't be able to chase me," he said as he grabbed his chest in relief.

A large part of the guards were stunned and couldn't follow Brandon's script.

One of the Dragon guards, who looked more toned than the others, stepped forward. "Do you think we're a game?" he said.

The crowd gathered little by little to see who had caused so much chaos.

Many were surprised that it was a human who had caused so much damage. Others might think it could have been a strong beast or one of the powerful races that were not against the dragons.

Although humans were not considered weak, they did not enter the top tier of races.

So seeing a human demonstrate so much skill as to deploy all the guards and receive a direct blow from a giant was something unique.

**ROAR**

A giant dragon flapped over the crowd and landed in front of Brandon, almost breathing in his face.

"YOU," a deep voice of this dragon was heard.

The others began to kneel before the dragon, and even Brandon felt a majesty that made him want to kneel, but he still resisted.

"You are strong for a human, let's be friends," he said, forming a smile.

"What?!!!!"

No one expected this turn of events; it was very sudden, and many still didn't understand what was happening.

"Sir, this subject has caused much damage; he can't..." The muscular dragon guard stopped speaking and lowered his head after receiving a threatening look.

"This human is a limit breaker, and a strong one at that. It's rare to see a race break their genetic limit and continue advancing without needing to ascend in the hunting zone."

He turned his face and looked at Brandon again. "What do you think? Do you want to be my friend and go hunting together in the real hunting zone?"

Brandon didn't quite follow the events that were happening, but this was his best opportunity.

"We can get to know each other and work together, as for being friends, we'll see about that later."

The topic of friendships was very complicated for Brandon because of all the things that had happened to him since he was a child.

"And what is that about the true hunting zone?"

The dragon began to flap its wings and rise. "Follow me."

Brandon had his soul rune in recovery, but he could still use it without forcing it too much. He spread his wings and felt many killer auras in his direction.

The dragon in the air looked at Brandon and commented, "These wings."

Brandon knew what was happening, so he immediately explained, "These wings are not dragon wings."

The Dragon kept looking at Brandon and his wings. "I know they're not Dragon wings. I could feel if it was my race, but at the same time, there's something strange about your wings."

"Let me explain. They should have a different shape," he said.

Brandon didn't expect anyone to notice the singularity of his wings. He had only changed their design but couldn't affect their ability, yet this dragon could tell that there was something wrong with them.

Brandon pulled out the half of his body that was still buried underground. "I think I need a bath."

He focused his attention on his body and activated his ability, causing his sensitive male parts to disappear.

The dragon watching him widened its eyes. "Interesting."

Brandon rose and stood in front of the giant dragon, nodding in its direction. Both flew until they disappeared from the crowd's sight.

"Disperse, everyone. The damage caused will be compensated by the refuge."

No one doubted these words since dragons were very proud and wouldn't let anyone damage their reputation.

Nevertheless, news of an extraordinary human who could withstand the blow of a giant began to spread throughout the refuge and soon among the other shelters.

**********************

In a room, you could see the body of a human drying his head and wearing a robe.

Brandon had arrived at a castle located in the center of the refuge. The interesting thing was that although he had entered and left this refuge several times, he had not seen this castle.

Brandon was taken to a room to take a bath and change his clothes. Although it was an empty room, he felt that he was being watched all the time, so he did nothing extraordinary.

Brandon took a bath and returned his body to normal. He already felt like he had lost his masculinity when he made these parts disappear.

He took out a casual pair of clothes, sandals, a white t-shirt, and some shorts. This would be the clothing he would commonly wear as Brandon, but he now had nothing else to wear and had not removed his mask the whole time he was in the castle.

Brandon left the room and walked through the castle, seeing its immensity and great structure.

"You sure know how to live luxuriously," he murmured.

"It's normal for us dragons to establish antiquity, greatness, and wealth regardless of our social class," said a young man with two dragon horns and wings on his back.

"You haven't forgotten me, have you?" he asked.

Brandon looked ahead at the boy who was approaching him. He didn't have to be psychic to know that he was the dragon he had encountered, but it was still surprising how even the voice changed when he had that appearance.

The boy smiled and charged at Brandon, suddenly throwing a punch to Brandon's face.

Brandon moved his right foot back and, making a waist turn, threw a punch that connected with the dragon man's fist.

You couldn't see Brandon's expression under the mask, but if you could, the enthusiasm and ecstasy of showing his strength in front of this race.
