As the sun began to rise and the night drew to a close, I knew that I would never be the same.
I had tasted freedom and desire, and I wanted more. I wanted to be with this human man, to forget about the pack and the rejection and everything else.
I woke up the next morning, my head pounding and my body sore. As I looked around the unfamiliar room with half-closed eyes, memories of the night before flooded back to me.
I felt the heat rising in my cheeks as I remembered what had happened between Jake and me. When I opened my eyes fully, I saw Jake lying beside me, his arm wrapped over my waist.
I felt a pang of guilt as I looked at him, knowing that I had betrayed my own kind by being with him.
And then I heard the sound of the door opening, a key turn in the lock.
My heart leapt into my throat as I saw a young lady walk into the room. She was a beautiful woman, with long dark hair and gloomy brown eyes, and I could see the anger in her gaze as she looked at me.
"What the hell is going on here?" she demanded, her voice loud and cold.
Jake jumped and sat up in bed, looking just as shocked as I felt. "Hannah, I can explain--"
"Don't even try," she snapped, cutting him off. "Who is she?"
Jake hesitated for a moment, and then he turned to me. "She's just a random girl who was at the bar last night," he said, his voice trembling.
"And she ended up in the apartment I got for you? Not putting on anything?!" She sounded furious, but her face was calm.
"Believe me, Hannah, she approached me first. I had too much to drink last night and didn't know what I was doing."
I could feel my wolf growling inside of me, furious at the way that Jake was trying to pin everything on me. But I knew that I had to keep quiet, that I couldn't reveal my true identity.
Hannah wasn't convinced, though. She turned to me, her eyes narrowing. "Is that true?"
I nodded, trying to keep my voice steady. "Yes. We just met at the bar last night, drunk. That's all."
Hannah didn't look convinced, but she didn't push the issue any further. Instead, she turned on Jake, her voice cold as she spoke.
"You need to get your act together, Jake. This is not acceptable. Our engagement is just a week away! What if it was one of my dad's men that caught you?"
Engagement? My eyes widened in shock knowing she was his fianceè, not just girlfriend.
"I'm sorry Hannah," Jake said as he walked over to her. "It won't repeat itself, I promise. I would be careful."
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes with disdain. "Get ready, my uncle just got back to New York, and he wants to meet you today."
And with that, she stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
I could feel my heart racing as I got out of bed, my mind spinning with thoughts of what had just happened. I knew that I had made a mistake, getting involved with Jake like that. And now, I had to face the consequences.
But I couldn't understand why she just took the matter lightly. Aren't they going to be engaged soon?
"What are you waiting for?" James' voice was harsh as he turned to glare fiercely at me. "Get out!"
As I got dressed and prepared to leave, I could feel the weight of my new reality settling on my shoulders. I am a lone wolf now, with no pack, no family, and no home.
I thought I could settle with him for the time being, but I was wrong. He has someone in his life already. It felt like I just received a second rejection from a human.
But I refused to let that get me down. I was determined to make a new life for myself, to find a place where I belonged.
In the end, I left, feeling like a fool. I knew that I had made a mistake, that I had let myself get too close to a human.
Immediately I departed from the apartment, I could feel my wolf stirring inside me, angry and frustrated at the situation we found ourselves in. But I knew that I needed to control her, to keep her from lashing out.
I walked out onto the streets, feeling lost and alone. I needed to find a new place to live, somewhere that I could start over and forget about what had happened with Jake and Pack.
As I walked down a deserted street, I spotted a "For Rent" sign outside of a small apartment building. I took it as a sign and brought out my mobile phone to dial the number written on the signpost.
And then, something even worse happened.
Two strange men with a sleek black car pulled up before me, offering to take me to an apartment that they claimed was perfect for me.
"Never mind, I can look for one myself," I replied, walking away from their horrifying presence.
"Miss, you don't want to miss out on this opportunity," One of them said. "There's a discount on the apartment."
"I said I'm not interested, just leave me alone!" I yelled.
But as I walked, I began to feel uneasy, sensing that something was wrong. One of them was still following behind me, whilst the other one was driving in the car.
Before I knew it, everything went blank.

As I woke up, I was in a luxury hotel room, surrounded by opulence and extravagance. My memories are hazy. I didn't know where I was how I had gotten there, or who had brought me.
I sat up, trying to shake off the fog in my brain when I suddenly heard a voice behind me.
"Welcome Naya," the voice said. "We've been waiting for you."
