Transmigrated to Stellar Era

On a billboard illuminated by the blinding flood lights which can make one see clearly even in a level four hurricane, the ad was showing.

' Interstellar Odyssey '

' Come, make your dreams come true ' the slogan read.

'If I see your blasted ad one more time, I will slit my throat to water my farm with my very blood ! ' , Sera Dustwood swore at the ad.

Interstellar Odyssey has been an incredibly popular game this year. It has spawned off not just a comic, but a novel, movie, a prequel and a sequel. Hell, there was even a dog blooded web novel, called ' Commander's sweet fierce wife ', which she just finished reading.

The game made multiple millionaires, even more destitute. Her swearing was true. As long as you do suicide by harakiri in the space farm, you can totally water it with your blood. You feel the pain. Odyssey has a three day ban as the death penalty, so you won't play the game for some time. She earned pocket money during exams by dying in her farm, and growing blood lilies.

The book she bought for a dollar turned out to be a dog blooded novel inspired by Odyssey. Worst yet, these bastards put Sera on the cover, while when it came to content, it's all about bashing Sera Dustwood.

Sera Dustwood in the story is a canon fodder, who believes her only redemption is marriage to Lancelot Maxmilian, heir to Marksmen series of guns. Maximilian is the fiance chosen by her father, for herself, when she was ten. Her father, who had always been strict with her, only smiled at her once, when she said she was very happy to be Lance's bride. Only, Lance liked her best friend Charlene. Charlene always accompanied her when she was playing with Lance. Lance always bought presents for both of them when there's an occasion.

The girl should have realized then. But in a true irritating canon fodder style, Sera did not realize that at all.

Despite having no force in her body, she went to combat college, just for Lance. Now, canon fodder Sera begs Lancelot to bring her along on a test hunt, because Maxmilian is powerful enough to carry her through the graduation test. However, Maximilian rejected her to party up with Charlene, saying he needs a healer instead of a burden.

The words were not nice.

In the end, Sera goes with the commoner team, dragged them down, drowned in spittle, dropped from college. Next year, the last of the Dustwood property went to clearing planet one forty four, so that they could own a farming planet once again. It failed. Her uncle committed suicide. Just like that Dustwoods went bankrupt. Her mother died from a heart attack shortly after her uncle. Within a week, her father married Charlene's mother. Charlene changed her name to Charlene Esgrot, following her father.

After a week at home, canon fodder Sera realized she has no place in this family. She went to beg her fiance, only for the engagement revocation papers to be thrown in her face. Unable to bear the embarrassment, she got out, and sustained herself as a waitress, facing the trials of the society, barely able to feed and clothe herself. In the end, when the city is in danger from mutant plant Gigantea, Maxmilian convinces her to transfer the vitality of Gigantea to the seed of the world tree. She does, under the condition that world tree seed will be given to her uncle. Only, she dies.

Maxmilian and Charlene take the seed for themselves, forgo her last wishes to be buried with her mother in Dustwood cemetery as a Dustwood, as is owed to her as a participant in the war, and spout hypocritical nonsense of her longing for her father's approval, as they engrave her name as Sera Esgrot on her tombstone, after burying her in the Esgrot cemetery.

Sera was so pissed off by the end of the story, she wanted to throw the book in a paper shredder. At this time, the series of billboards which advertised nothing but Interstellar Odyssey appeared in front of her, igniting the flames of anger from the bottom of her heart.

Thus, she found the book online. Left a bad review !

' I wish I could transmigrate into your shit plot just so I can blast your shitty plot to smithereens. How dare you use Sera for cover when all you do in your book was torture her ? Your book is not a sweet romance, it's a cheater paradise. For the sake of humanity, I advise you to stop writing ! At the same time, buy some brains from amazon, for only a brainless idiot could think this is a romance instead of adultery ! '

After venting out at the author, Sera felt cathartic, and fell asleep.

She did not see the lighting strike their bus, she definitely did not feel the flash of fire that roasted the entire bus taking all their lives in a single second.

When she opened her eyes, it seemed like she was under an abyss, tied up in purple vines. Distantly she heard a voice.

" Sera ! Sera ? Sera … " A voice seemed to be calling her.

Sera woke up with a start.

She was in a futuristic looking medical bed, pristine white. The room was pristine white, with gentle lighting. The wall seemed to be acting as the screen, as all her vitals were showing on it. There was a silver gray metal band on her wrist. A small black cap on her finger.

An unknown lady seems to be sitting beside the bed.

She hugged Sera before Sera could react.

" Oh, My baby ! you are awake. " the lady said, tears streaming down her face.

It seems that she was genuinely that happy.

Sera was almost about to ask ' Who are you ? ' but she stopped herself at the last minute.

Pink dress that seemed to be made with wings of fairy butterflies. Giant emerald on a wrought silver chain. Elven looking ear adornments made of sapphires. Blue flat shoes seemed to be made of flower petals.

A beauty that could rival an elven queen.

She remembered this dress and description all too clearly, because it is what Sera's mom wears on the day she died. It is the exact opposite of her taste.

Sera paused for a moment. She does not want to believe it this quickly, but she seemed to have transmigrated into the world of Odyssey. Now, if only she knew which version of the Odyssey it is.

Was it the game ? Was it the animation ? Was it the shitty novel she just read ? Which one was it ?

" Sera ! Sera ! " Emma Dustwood shook her.

" yes. " Sera answered, coming out of a daze.

Her focus shifted on to Emma.

Suddenly, she realized. It doesn't matter which version it is. Now that she was in Sera's body, she will make up for Sera's regrets.

" Mother. " Sera called sweetly.

Emma paused. Her daughter had never called her this sweetly.

" You said 'Ivy heart ' would be mine when I grow up, correct ? ' Sera asked, holding the emerald in her hands. The necklace was so valuable and famous, it had a name.

" Indeed. " Emma answered.

" Then, can I inherit it now ? " Sera asked.

The request was so bizarre and out of the blue, Emma could only stare at her in shock.

The silence stretched between them.

" I believe I am ready for it. ", Sera added as an afterthought. She said it very perfunctorily, like you are trying to get an NPC to accept the voice command you gave.

That woke Emma out of her shocked daze.

" Once worn, It can never be removed, unless you are dead or have a successor. Removing this necklace means you are not the Dustwood matriarch any more. Are you sure you want it ? " Emma asked.

" Yes, mother. " Sera nodded very eagerly.

In the book, when Emma dies, Sera asks her father to bury her mother with the emerald necklace. Her father agreed. However, just a day later, Charlene's mother was attending a soiree wearing the necklace. Sera has gone batshit crazy as she should.

When she asked her father for an explanation, her father was not listening at all.

' Are you a child ? Throwing a fit in a social occasion just because of a mere necklace ! ' her father scolded her.

In a fit of anger, Sera threw away her father's medals. Her father threw her out as a result. Even at this point, Sera in the book believed in her father's affection.

Sera was unable to take the necklace out of the house in the end. It has remained one of her biggest regrets even in her death.

Now, that mistress will never touch this necklace again.

Emma looked at Sera's face for confirmation. Seeing Sera determined, Emma unclasped the necklace.

She put it on Sera slowly, savoring every moment.

" From now on, you are Lady Dustwood. You understand what it means, right ? " her mother asked.

" Yes, Mother. " Sera answered.

From now on, all her mother has to do is look pretty. She will clean up all the wolves pretending to be sheep.
