Suspect my own brother

Blair stops in his track when he sees Selah between Aeneas and Catalina. They are seen enjoying their time as they arrange the flowers; Catalina directs Selah and Aeneas is busy flirting with Selah. Together they form a harmonious picture.

Surely that wasn't what Blair had noticed. He wanted to know how Selah was doing after talking to King Tristan. But seeing her still able to express like that…

"Crown Prince Blair," said Aze,l who appeared out of nowhere. "I greet Crown Prince Balthasar."

Blair clicked his tongue, then turned to face Azel. He had no intention of returning the greeting.

"If you want to meet Prince Aeneas, I can tell him," Azel added calmly.

"No need. I just wanted to see how things were," Blair said. "Why is Duchess Selah there?"

"It seems that Duchess Dulcia just met His Majesty and decided to stop by here," Azel told him. "After all, Her Grace is the fiancé of Prince Aeneas. It's natural for them to meet like this."

"You're as good at talking as Aeneas, aren't you?" muttered Blair. "There is no need to tell Prince Aeneas that I came here. He needs a lot of rest after meeting Father."

"Ver well, Your Highness."

Blair takes one more glance at Aeneas before he leaves.

The atmosphere between the three of them looked fine. Either Selah has not told Aeneas what King Tristan said earlier or King Tristan didn't say anything. But considering King Tristan's attitude, it seemed impossible that he didn't say anything.

When Blair arrived at his palace, Raul was waiting at the front. His right hand followed Blair the necessary distance.

"Just say it now."

"Duchess Dulcia has an extraordinary ability to hold back. I couldn't read her expression earlier. But I saw Duchess Dulcia following Sir Azel as soon as she saw him. The two of them came into the room and called for a healer," explained Raul.

"Does Duchess Selah look hurt?"

"Maybe she got a little cut somewhere. But it is not His Majesty who is the cause."

"You're pretty sure about that."

"Duchess Dulcia was forced to leave His Majesty's room because it was time for him to take medicine."

Blair's steps stopped suddenly. He spun around and parroted, "What?"

Raul looks confused. "His Majesty took some medicine a while ago, right when Her Grace came out," he explained again. "Is something wrong, Your Highness?"

Father should have taken all of his meds while I was in his room, Blair thought. Why is there another medicine he has to take? Is there anything left?

Someone may have added something on purpose.

Blair made a quick turn. He half ran towards the Royal Palace. Calls from Raul were ignored. Right now, some things need to be checked immediately.

"Crown Prince Blair, what is it?" asked the Royal Palace butler found Blair arriving out of breath.

"Father!" Blair almost screamed in the butler's face. "How is Father doing!?"

"H-his Majesty just fell asleep, Your Highness," answered the butler doubtfully.

"Are you sure? Nothing else?" Blair demanded. "What about his body temperature and breath?"

"According to the report I just got, everything is normal."

Blair couldn't believe it. He ran to his father's room.

"Wait, Your Highness! His Majesty is just resting!" prevent a healer, standing guard in front with the help of a knight.

"Move! I have to see for myself!"

A maid and another healer standing guard inside were shocked to see Blair barge in. They also tried to restrain Blair, but again Blair rebelled.

Once near his father, Blair immediately touched his hand.

His body temperature is normal.

His breathing is regular.

His skin was pale as usual.

Nothing unusual. Father is fine. Your father is still alive, Blair thought.

So what did Raul say? Is it true that there is medicine that King Tristan has not taken? Is Blair the only one here who's scared?

"I'm sorry, Your Highness. I hope you get out of here," said the guard knight quietly.

"Did Father take any other medicine after I left his room earlier?" Blair asked the sentry knight once he was out.

"Uh? Yes, Your Highness. There are two medicines that His Majesty took after you came out," explained the knight. "Because His Majesty eats quite a lot, the healer gave him stomach sedatives and sleeping pills so he can sleep more peacefully. Both are newly added drugs."

"Oh…"

That sounds reasonable.

So it's true that Blair here is panicking himself?

"My apologies, Your Highness. I thought the healer had already told you…."

"No, it's fine. Because I left right away, so maybe I didn't hear it," Blair said.

Raul appeared in the hallway later, apparently waiting for Blair. So Blair decided to leave after leaving a few messages to the guardian knights and healers.

"If something is bothering you, it's a good idea to follow your heart, Your Highness," said Raul.

Blair brushed her hair back. "I'd be thought paranoid if I did," he said.

Raul was silent for a long time before finally saying, "Sorry for my rudeness, Your Highness. But I've brought this up before, haven't I?"

"If you always wake up and fall asleep at certain times, that is Aeneas's favor? Raul, you know that Aeneas is always cooped up with Catalina," Blair said. "You want me to suspect my own brother?"

"We never know what's really on someone's mind, Your Highness.…"

"Aeneas could not have killed someone. He never participates in hunting events."

"But Prince Aeneas was able to hide all the wounds he suffered. Prince Aeneas can smile at any moment. Isn't that scarier than killing–"

"Enough, Raul. Don't talk nonsense about Aeneas," Blair cut in sharply. "Go and do your duties as usual."

Raul took a deep breath. "Yes, Your Highness. Excuse me."

Raul has repeatedly expressed his suspicions of Aeneas, and Blair has repeatedly rejected him. When in fact, if he think about it again, Raul's words have a point. Moreover, when King Tristan fell just right after Aeneas managed to escape from his room for the first time.

Should I really suspect him? thought Blair.

Is it true that in this world, there is a child who has the heart to kill his own father, no matter how evil his father is–

"Selah…"

Yes, Selah had the heart to do that to Archibald. She coldly cut off her father's hand, threw him into seclusion, and took over the duke's seat. If Selah, who is a woman, can do it, it's not impossible that Aeneas can do it too...

Because…

Isn't it just now that Aeneas has the heart to take Selah from Blair?
