Keys, these strange artifacts can be found in many places, when used on the usually disabled “status screen” details about these artifacts would appear, some keys turned to dust, in exchange raising ones strength, some offered skills while on your person, some even turned into armor or weapons, maybe a catalyst for spells if you were lucky, the possibilities are endless, the catch being they can only be found in dungeons and sub spaces, varying in difficulty but also rewards

Generic system novel

An arrow passes me almost at lightning speed


"you see?!? My almost as fast as lightning key is useful!" Yells a mercenary ecstatic at killing a simple goblin


"pff, your a dork Harold" quips another, shooting two with a duel 'pistol' key "should try these baby's"


"oh shut up sharold, those take up to much mana!!" Harold replies


Of course i can kill a goblin too, its just a bit tougher, having tens for all stats doesn't help, and having a shitty key i observe the active key with the system


its a pitiful thing, no bonus stats, no skill, and no exciting story to brag about, just a long wooden handle with a simple standard spear tip, truly the epitome of H rank, funny, i talk like I'm better than it


i dont think ive ever seen someone with everything locked before other than myself, luckily that'll change with the clearing of this dungeon!


walking down to the final floor (floor 2) we come into a room with a single monster


"GLORY FOR THE HOMELAND" the two mercenaries yell


"stop being so dramatic you two, you should know were all G ranks"


we all run forward, the boss goblin pissing itself, not giving it time to run away we all land a killing blow (making us have the same contribution rank, meaning same level rewards)


"nice working with you scamp" Harold gives me a thumbs up


"yea, makes it a lil easier, hope you get a good key, and remember pistols are GOD" sharold chuckles


"thank you two, happy to provide shitty support" i laugh back, all of us transferred back to the start of the dungeon, just outside the entrance


Soon we part ways, me taking the money from the guild and finding an inn to stay the night, so is the expenses of a traveling adventurer

i call for the key from the system, and intricate delicate key appears in my hand, without much thought, i put the key part of the key in the status and turn, the line glitches and reveals my newly unlocked option


My eyes widen, not by something amazing like the unique key ability, but by the system message
