Three days passed and she had not heard anything from Caden. She kept on asking Phoenix and the others, but they still had the same answer—to wait for Caden.
She realized that their loyalty was to Caden. She was just a job for them. She needed protection and they had no choice but to accept the mission for them.
She couldn't concentrate in school, and even at home, she was restless. She wanted to tell her brother, but she couldn't betray Caden's trust.
She knew the only place she could get an answer was from that place—Club Royale. She wasn't sure if she could get in, but she would do everything to find out what was happening. She's so tired of waiting and she had enough of being left alone without knowing anything.
She asked Rogue to meet her in the washroom. She had to be careful because all eyes were on her. Caden told her that the Trekker Clan had made some movements by recruiting some students from the bronze class. Her bodyguards were closely guarding her and the only place they wouldn't dare to enter was the girl's washroom.
"Rogue, I need you to take me to Club Royale." She said.
Rogue was surprised. "W—What? I can't. The boss will kill me."
She took a deep breath, held Rogue's shoulders and stared into her eyes.
"If you don't take me, I'll go by myself. If something happened to me, it's your fault. One way or another, you'll be punished. But your punishment will be different depending on your decision." She said in a firm tone.
She didn't want to pressure Rogue. But if she decides to bring her to Club Royale, she would just get a light punishment but if Rogue let her go alone and something happened to her, she would be severely punished.
Rogue scratched her head and sighed. "I really hate leaving you like this. I told Phoenix to at least give you something, but she's strict in following the rules. I'll take you there, but you owe me."
Her heart had a mixture of joy and worry when Rogue agreed. They planned to sneak out after class. She would have to ask Brie to cover for her so Lucas wouldn't suspect.
"Is this about Caden?" Brie asked.
She nodded. "I can't tell you everything. I know my brother will definitely get mad at you and I'm being selfish but I don't know who—"
"Hey. Stop." Brie sighed. "I understand. If your brother disappeared, I'll do the same. I love your brother, but I'm also your friend. It's not because of him that I wanted to be your friend. I want to help. Let's just tell him that we're going to hang out. He'll be happy not to see me for some time."
She didn't want to involve Brie. But Lucas would suspect if she would go out by herself.
"And when did you two get close?" Lucas frowned.
She glanced at Brie, asking her to say something.
"I asked her to be my friend the other night. Remember when you yelled at me and asked me to leave? She saw me coming out of your room." Brie said.
For some reason, she felt Brie's pain. She didn't know something like that happened that night. She glared at Lucas for being so mean to Brie.
"You're a jerk for hurting her feelings. You'll realize her value once she's gone!" She yelled at her twin and grabbed Brie's hand to walk away.
She suddenly got mad at Lucas. She knew she was also mean to Brie, but he should at least be gentle with a girl who was in love with him.
"I'm sorry I didn't know." She whispered.
They were in a nearby cafeteria just like they planned. Then they would sneak out at the back door. Rogue already talked to the manager and paid him to agree.
"Shush. It's not your fault. I'm the one who forced herself on him." Brie slightly smiled.
"Don't you ever get tired? I mean somehow we're the same, but at least I know Caden loves me." She commented.
Brie sighed. "Do you know the real reason I went to Canada?"
She shook her head. She didn't have the slightest idea of the real reason for Brie's sudden transfer to Canada.
"Your brother told me he felt like drowning when I'm around and he needed some space. It was never my intention to go, but the offer to study there was almost three years ago. My parents scolded me almost everyday for rejecting it. Then Lucas came and told me to grow up and get a life after rejecting me for the fifty-second time. And so I left. I told myself maybe he would miss me and follow me in Canada, but it didn't happen He didn't even send me a single message. I tried to forget but I couldn't. I left my heart here with him. So you ask me if I would get tired of him? I think not. Because you don't know how many times I tried to stop loving him."
She didn't realize tears were falling from her eyes. Her heart ached for Brie's one-sided love for Lucas. She held her hands and smiled at her.
"After this, I'll help you. I'll return the favor." She said.
Brie shook her head. "I didn't help you because I need something in return. We're friends. And friends help each other, right?"
She nodded. "Right. Thank you, Brie. But I will still help you because I want you to be Lucas' girlfriend."
They waited for more minutes before Rogue arrived at the exact time. They went to the washroom first and changed from their uniforms to casual clothing. Rogue gave them a wig, sunglasses, and a cap.
She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. She knew Caden might get mad at her, but it was his fault for leaving her again so he had no right to scold her.
"Let's go." Rogue said.
She glanced at Brie and nodded. Brie held her hand and took a deep breath before they went out of the washroom.
