The challenge begins; part one

The sun slowly rose as Embrues was still getting things together as he was drinking his coffee while clicking away at his computer that was until he heard his door open then close as he saw a man in all black military like uniform with a black mask that covered his head as well, Embrues stood up slowly as he made eye contact with the man.

"You're either brave or a fool to walk into my guild the way you did just now" Embrues said as the man stood across the table from him "I'd like to think otherwise" He said as he pulled out a picture and tossed it to Embrues as he saw that it was an unconscious Zero laid out on the floor "Who are you?" Embrues asked as he watched the man sat down in the chair.

"I am the man that kidnapped your precious guild member and my men shoot his little friends" He said as Embrues balled up his fists ready to fight "You take pride in shooting children?"

"I take pride in doing my job" The man countered as he chuckled a bit before looking around and seeing that he was in a regular office with wooden walls "Allow me to get straight to the point, expect a few problems for a while- maybe a little hell because if you want Zero back then I suggest you start defending yourself" He said as Embrues looked confused.

"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked and right at that moment his phone started ringing and going off just like his computer as he rushed over to it and picked up the phone "Embrues!" A man screamed into the phone as he could hear people fighting and explosions in the background "We need help! We've been attacked by a dark guild, we can't hold on for much longer, nearly half of our members have been killed plea-" He was cut off as if he was stabbed or yanked from the phone as the line was cut as he started checking the calls that came in on top of each other including on his laptop.

It was from guilds he was friends with and some that knew to reach out since he had the biggest guild in the area as he gritted his teeth "You'll pay for this!" Embrues screamed as he looked up to see that the man wasn't there anymore "Maybe next time old man" He heard the man's voice say as he couldn't find him anywhere as he immediately went for his laptop and and began calling his barkeep to relay orders.

Walking around with a newspaper in his hand was Clyde as he was going to catch up on daily events, it wasn't something he normally did just something he decided to do until he figured out where Zero was or got the call to move out on some missions another thing he didn't want to do other than look for Zero.

"I can literally feel your frustration over there Clyde" He heard his wife say as he looked at her typing away on her computer as if she was looking for something as he could see the hyper focus she had going on "What are you up to?" He asked she sighed and stopped for a moment to drink her coffee "I'm looking for info on that damn barkeep" She said as she went back to typing at fast speeds.

"The barkeep from Master Embrues office? Why?" He asked as she looked up at Clyde then stood up as she walked up to him as she swung her hand in his face covered in lightning as he ducked last second and backed away "WHAT THE HELL" He shouted while swinging the newspaper in frustration "What was that for?" He said as she walked back to her computer.

"That's why I'm looking for info, because somehow he was able to dodge it and made eye contact with me the whole entire time" She said as Clyde became slightly wide eyed "So, you wanna find out his ability?" Clyde said as she nodded confirming what he just said.

They both heard the tablet beside the stove go off as Clyde had a pretty good guess that it was work as he slow strolled towards it and pressed the answer button as he saw Embrues with a facial expression that wasn't pleasant "I need one of you to head over to the west district to help defend the guilds and the other to the east!" He started to say quickly as it made Lorraine move from her chair and next to Clyde.

"John what happened? What's going on?" She asked as he gave a short sigh "Everyone that we know of is being under attack in all the districts we can't afford to lose firepower right now since Zero is still missing" He said while hanging up the call as they both went upstairs to get their clothes on.

Clyde was back in his military uniform while Lorraine was in a black dress that came with a hood as she wore black slippers to match while her dual blades was strapped onto her back as Clyde could do nothing but shake his head and chuckle "You know I still remember the day I asked you why do you wear dresses into combat" He said as she began to laugh slightly.

"Did you like my answer?" She asked as he started to laugh while holding her hand "If you mean your answer being "It keeps me ready to look sexy for my man when we get off work" then yeah, I did like your answer" He said as he kissed her forehead "What a charmer" She said while giggling as she pushed him back playfully "Don't you have somewhere to be?" She said as he ran down the steps and headed for the jeep and the moment he pulled out the garage he saw a flash of light from their bedroom knowing that his wife had teleported to the district opposite from the direction he was driving in.

After driving for about thirty minutes he finally reached the west district, he didn't expect much to happen while he was over here since it wasn't as bad as the east district- still bad but the place has their own version of bad that you don't wanna deal with. Once he got past the gate line he saw that no one was there which was odd and saw a lot of cars going out instead of in and once he got to the guild he parked the jeep across the street from it.

'Last time I checked there was at least two men outside guarding the entrance at all times' Clyde thought to himself as he walked towards the two story restaurant building and seeing that no one was around as he could do nothing but hear explosions and screams off to the distance he pulled out his gun and once he pushed the door open he immediately saw dead bodies everywhere all across the restaurant from he left and to his right in front of the bar.

'What the hell happened here?' He thought to himself as he stepped over everyone and could tell by first glance they were dead as some had their intestines ripped out from their stomachs and some with deep claw marks on their backs and neck 'These attack patterns don't match' He said while holstering his gun while turning two specific bodies over and comparing the two.

The body on the right was missing his right hand all the way down to his mid forearm and some of his collarbone on the right side of his neck and a medium sized hole as if someone stuck something inside his chest 'Or a hand' He continued to think while looking at the body on the left.

Deep claw gashes on the chest and neck area as it went all the way back to the spinal cord as his right elbow seemed to be hanging on by a thread this body and the other ones like it people would assume this was an animal attack but the body on the right looks like a person actually took bites out of him.

'A werewolf and a ghoul?' Clyde thought to himself as it was the only too races he could think of at the moment that could do this type of damage 'But why would a werewolf and a ghoul be fighting together? As partners at that...who are we really up against?' Clyde thought as he then heard rumbling of stuff moving upstairs as he shook his head slowly knowing he was gonna have to check it out.

What was up the stairs he didn't know but he hoped that whatever killed these men like this wasn't still around to finish any survivors from the fight.
